Because it would also increase money. Since adding 50% bonus + more money = even more money.Stormrage said:Guys? Is this like a discussion thread for the mod, or do I need to ask this in the mod`s thread? Why does the Part Time Job wonder increase trade in the water?![]()
Ok, I've got the general idea of it.The Omega said:Okay, Boy Girl War I. I've already kinda made a beta-tech tree on paper with all the free time I've had, and I've kinda got an idea. The map will have Boy Island, Girl Island, Octogania (The island in the middle of the sea, for all you other people out there), and the northern part of the mainland. (I've already made a test map, but it was for an earlier version of the mod.) Basically, what we're gonna have is the Girls starting with a really large army, most of which will be in the city "Landing Site" on Octogania. All the Octoganian city's other than that one will be Boy controlled (Their capital will be the city in the center of the island), and have victory point things. But the Boys will not have a large army on the place, will skip the first turn, and will be unable to build military units until they've researched the first tech (Whcih the Girls start out with, but the boys don't), so the Island should fall pretty quickly. On Boy Island, half the cities will be Girls, half the cities will be Boys, but neither side will have a large military presence on the island. Alexi will also be on the island, but since he did not lead the boys at this time, he will be an MGL. Girl Island won't be very important, will only have two cities, and no victory points. But it will be the Girls capital-place. On the mainland, the boys second largest city will be Boy City, and it will be placed on the coast (It's kinda hard to describe the exact location, but once I can start using my own computer and we start making the map, you'll see). Since it's the second largest, it will be where the boy's capital moves to when their capital on Octogania falls. The boy's king unit will also be there. And throughout the desert and in other random locatoins, the boys and girls will have outposts. Ones with vital resources nearby will have VPs, but most will just be pointless outpost things. Max will be a boy MGL in one of the outposts. Basically, the Girls will have to conquer Octogania fast, and prevent the Boys from retaking any land, until they get enough VPs to win. The Boys will have to build up their weak military, and drive the Girls back to GI.
Yup, exactly.Bluemofia said:Ok, I've got the general idea of it.
Girls attack Octogania with massive army, boys fight back, but should fall due to inability to replenish troops, and later once they get more troops, they should attack back, and drive them back to Girl Island. Or the Girls hold the Boys off long enough to win.
What's the tech tree going to look like? Do you have a quick MS paint drawing?
That woudl require me having 5 whole minutes on the computer.Bluemofia said:So you can't even type it up? It takes at most 5 minutes...
Well, you're forgetting transports and battleships, but basically yeah, there won't be many units.Bluemofia said:And how many unit types is it going to be?
As in, is it just going to be the Boy Warrior, Girl Warrior, Gatling Cannon, Boy Agent, Girl Agent, Rock thrower, and Cootie bomb? Or is it going to have more than that, with the boy and girl warriors upgrading, and eventually developing into others, such as Boy Warrior II, Girl Warrior II?
The Omega said:Yeah, that sounds good.Bluemofia said:Ok.The Omega said:Well, I really don't know where to find a grenadier, so I'm not gonna be much help. We could ask for it....Bluemofia said:Ok. Pokeballs of doom. But it's going to be hard to find the actual grenadier. The moarter infantry doesn't look that good IMO...The Omega said:Yeah, like idea of pokeballs. Rain of pokeball death!Bluemofia said:Ok, got that. And the mercenary army has already been changed so they won't require armies. The Omega said:Well, it'll be hard for Char and Horse, as they really had no military, and didn't take part in any battles. The Group Wars was kinda like a mini-Cold War, mainly because we were all too scared of the Teacher's at the time to be violentlike. And I've given you most of the information on units, histories, and battles for the other civs. If you need to improve them, Omega has some ideas.Bluemofia said:Ok. For the next patch.
I need more information on the Char, the UF, the BU, and the Rebs. And a bit on the Horse.
I need to know their actions, their military units, all of them, a semi-brief history of them, their major battles, etc.
Especially military units, and their deployment's outcome.
I think the main thing to do to improve Char would be giving them a real defensive unit, as all their units are offensive, which doesn't help much. (I was thinking of giving them a unit called "Pokemon Master" in the Group Wars scenario, which would be a stong overall unit, but we could also give it to them in the normal game)
As for UF, if you really want to improve them, just make the mercenary army wonder not require armys, and they'll be pumping out mercs in no time.
For Rebs, we could give them Communism as a custom gov, as it would match alot of the stuff we've done with them (The flag, Austin's title) Also, maybe a invisible unit that.... umm.... does something. Probably pillage stuff.
And isn't Horse already strong enough? I know that one guy said they were weak, but in all my games, they've been pretty pretty stonglike. One of the few AIs I've ever seen do a blitz.
For BU, hows about we just change that one improvement that autoproduces boy mercenaries to autoproduce a stronger unit, increase the Boy Alliance infantry movement to 2, and give some of their units bonus HP.
And I just kinda had an idea to make playing as the Girls different from playing as the other civs. Instead of trying to conquer Playground, their focus would be on cultural victory. They'd be able to sacrifice their boyfriend units, except it would be renamed to "Dump", or something like that. And they could build the "Gossip" improvement, that would double culture of sacrifice.
And maybe we could add some of the other units I've been thinking of putting in the scenarios into the normal game....![]()
I've got an interesting idea for the Pokemon Master... Changing the moarter troop person or a gernadier to moarter/throw pokeballs!![]()
Rebs... Ok. But it's going to be a bit different than Communism. More like Reb-olutionary Government. Or something. (and BTW, what was the Rebs like in real life? I sort of just picked random titles for the leaders, and somehow, the Communist theme stuck.)
For the Girls, well, I'm considering that. But I'm not so sure about the Boyfriend being able to be sacrificed. Maybe it has to be a worker, or something. I need to go check.![]()
Well, in real life, the Rebs were kinda in two parts. There was Austin, who was just mad at the BU because they were t3h sUx0rZ. Most of the people he had recruited were BU mercenaries that he offered to give gum too. The other part of the Rebs was with Matthew, and was the actual powerful part, and consisted of most of the BU (They still followed Austin, though)
Well, if it can't be the boyfriend unit, then we'll have them sacrifice workers, but that wouldn't make as much sense.
Ok. So they had the regular reb, and the Elite Rebs, right? Just under another general.
Ok, figured out how to do that. And going to impliment it to the 1.2 version.
Yeah, basically. I still think that we should add a communist like government, mainly because it would be kinda funny to have 5th graders proclaiming the glories of communism....
Dat be good.![]()
And communist like goverment... So take Civ III communism, and upgrade it slightly?
