One nice feature is that specialists now add their value to the city screen, so you can see how efficient your cities are, more easily.

Second, i can't 100% confirm this, but it appears as though bombardment has changed. Now, even your ancient catapults will first attack the defending units before any improvements or population is destroyed.

Thumbs up on both counts.

i think its a great idea. it really helps to make artillery more useful on an offensive standpoint, not just useful defensivelly.

Well, I'm leader of the camp that hates the new bombardment.

Well, I sort of don't mind it but, I too, think that it would be more realistic for it to be based on what you explained on the other thread, Warp. ;)

Hey, where was I when that was voted on?!?!?! :p :king: ;)

Okay, I'll settle for Viceroy.

Yes, the Javelin Thrower is very good. I only had 2 AIs on my continent but between them and barbs I have about 35 slaves and only 9 home built workers. I found myself leaving barb camps so I could get more slaves - my own little slave trade. But, the downside is they start your GA pretty early.

I also built explorers for the first time since my first game.

So I take it others have found interest in my new favorite civ....

They are very good units, and I love the enslaving feature.

The postponing of map trading and communications is a VERY pleasent surprise for me... totally makes the geographic knowledge of the world unfold in a MUCH more interesting pace/fashion. I too now build explorers for a reason (beyond acing as guerrilla razers),. I like the slave aspect added into the game too- so far haven't seen the AI use Arty well yet, but I've only ever made it to 1950 before dying and I only had Riflemen at that point! :)

Nice to have my ass handed to me.

i still dont use explorers, i usualy just send out settlers unguarded to explore and settle. then again, i dont play with barbarians. i think the new bombardment is excelent too. catapults actualy work now!

For those of you have haven't played the WWII conquest, bombardment destroys air units before it hits any ground units. I don't know if it works the same in the epic game yet I haven't gotten that far yet in my epic game.

I love the archer's new bombardment. Now I have a REASON to build them once I get iron-working.

how is greece in the game? i havent bought it yet but i plan on buying it when i get the money and when my computers back up. someone, please respond ... NOW!

so theyre still 1/3/1? that sucks. they should be better. like ... i dont know. but the hoplite was the craziest! i guess ill just have to mod it or something. when i figure out how

Don't know what to think yet about the new bombard rules. One thing I do love is the fact that now archer units will fire off a shot at you before you attack the main defender of the stack.

I agree, attacking the units by ground forces first is a good idea. Airforces should attack building and etc first.
