Hi, I am new to these forums.

I have Civ4 and want to play the "Earth" map scenario. But the problem is that it is so big that my world domination plans cannot continue as the time runs out before I have conquered the world... and the game is over.
I know about the custom game and all but is there a way to play the scenarios *without* any Time Victory? Is there a way to cancel time victory altogether so we can have more fun?

Good luck,

If you are going for Domination or Conquest victory, I think it's better to turn off Time and Space race victory.
It seems that the AI likes to build spaceships, and when suddenly everyone starts building, you can kiss your conquest plans goodbye. :D

AIs actually completely stop all spaceshiproduction after war is declared. If you think that you might lose, just get as many civilizations to declare war on each other as you can. Hopefully some civs will have held off on free religion, and you could then declare war on all of the popular kids.

I would play on marathon or modify the game/tech/production speeds. If you really think about it, it's impossible to capture the amount of land the Roman Empire held by 0 AD on normal or epic. I've never tried marathon yet, but I advise you to capture Asia ASAP. The European nations are too crowded and have no room to grow. Asia's civs are more spaced out and have more room to grow. Let them expand their borders, but you must stop them before they are too advanced in tech.

Oh btw, welcome to the forums.
