Up at the top of the forum it says "Please use Internet Explorer 5.0+ or Netscape 6.2 to view the forum. Older versions are not very compatible with the forum. Also be sure to enable cookies in your browser."

So, I thought I'd just let you know that the forum works well in Opera 6 as well. =]

(Yes, I'm new around here. If you want something to throw at the newbie, take these used computer screens. They're very painful. =P)

heh, I think I might make that my signature.. =P

Hey, you are very right, tSlater!!

We have two Opera info threads in the Computer Talk forum. Tomorrow will be one week since I started using Opera 6.05 (and Sun Java 1.4). Soooo much more stable and sooo much faster. I only wish I had started using Opera sooner.

Opera 6 should definitely be listed, as it is a cross-platform browser, too (unlike MS Internet Exploder).

ok, I edited the message a bit so now it says "Please use Internet Explorer 5.0+, Netscape 6.0+, or Opera 6.0+ to view the forum. [...] ". :)

Cool... that is a good service for your BBS users. I suuuuree wish I'd used it sooner, like last year when NS 4.7 was having (and still does) problems with the CSS at CFC.

@tSlater: I have posted the links to the Opera upgrade, as well as the newest relaease of Java JRE. The 6.05 upgrade is for the new industry standards for security agreed upon a week abo (August 7th, I think). Hmmm. Wow, not only a fast Browser that does not crash your system like IE, but a responsive company! LOL, I don't see a new MS IE (but they will surely upgrade it in 12 to 24 months ;) ) -- hehe, but then IE is a hacker's dream anyway ;).

@ All users of Java-enabled systems (that's 97% of you): everyone should use Sun's newest Java. Java is not an MS program (even though they have tried to illegally make it theirs, and failed). MS does make a licensed Java plug-in, though. Sun has JRE 1.40_01 out now, and you can check your current version from Control Panel (the Java applet) if you have the JRE (Java Runtime Environment, now used by all browsers instaed of plug-ins) installed. JRE is applicable to all Browsers (hence everyone), and will make the settings for NS & IE automatically.

See the Computer Talk forum for more (the Opera threads have instructions and Links for the Java upgrades).

Here is what the Windows Control Panel Icon looks like:
