I just wanna know how many threads do you read and do you read each message or just kinduv glance over them and look for the juicy parts?

To Thunderfall: I wanted the poll to be multiple votable but only one choice can be made. If you don't mind too much could you change it to receive multiple choices?

This looks like a good place to ask this question:

What exactly is the point in "ignoring" certain users? Do most people do it when they are mad at someone or think that person is just a mindless, spamming idiot? To me it seems like no matter how annyoing someone is I still would like to read their posts so that I don't miss anything. I guess I'll check back to this poll to see how many people actually have ignore lists, because I'm curious about it.

I usually hit GD first, then Site Feedback, then GOTM if its not already 4 am in the morning. I'm usually in several other non-civ forums and newsgroups while I'm online, so I kind of go round-robin between all of them. Lately, I'm a little bit disappointed with CivFanatics failed feature - namely showing which threads are "unread". I've tried everything (not using the back button), using cookies, etc. I don't have this problem at Apolyton. I only mention this because this impacts my willingness to participate in more threads here at CivFanatics.

I read it if it's an interesting topic, or if it only has one to three replies.

I'll have to add my own

X: I read as many as I can get to.

I never actually get to read all of them, but I don't really skip any for any particular reason either.

I do my best to read every single post in the General Discussions, strategy articles, and strategy and Tips forums, although sometimes I'll skip some if the thread gets rather long and I have already got bored with that particular subject.

I've given up on trying to keep up with reading the Off-topic forum, so I miss most of those. Still sometimes browse that forum if I get bored. Otherwise, I briefly view the other Civ3 forums and Site Feedback.

I used to read everything I could - then the site got too big (starting sometime when Civ3 came out) and I now maybe read at most 10% of what is on the site. :(

Generally ones that look interesting, and the threads that I mod. ;)

First I look at the main CFC page for General Info. Then look for unread SOTDs (good job TF! :goodjob: ) - click the link to the related thread - go back to main - go forums-general and read a lot of the threads EXCEPT polls.

I don't vote so why read them.

oops... 'cept every now and then... like now.

OT - what is this doing in Site Feedback?

it was from the GD forum. wonder why it was moved... looked well-placed to me before...

Threads about threads are regarding the site and therefore shld sit in Site Feedback. Some people never visit the Civ3 forums at all. ;)

In my case, I tried to read all in my favourite forums (like Site Feedback, History, All Other Games....) but otherwise will pick and choose. There're just too many these days.

I read all posts in the GOTM forums (after I have played that month's game, of course ;)), use the what's new button to look for other interesting threads in other forums and end up in Civ3 GD.

personally i think this kind of thread is borderline spam and should only be in Off-Topic forum if anywhere.

I'll read a lot of the OT stuff, all of the demo game and Civ1 forum. When I'm already turned off by the title of a thread I won't even bother to open it, example: The UN are crap, or Europeans don't like Americans and that kind of stuff. Lately I also try to avoid ME/Iraq threads.

My read Strategy was largely based on the Most recent posts as can be accessed from the Main page and the User CP screen to see if there were replies in my Subscribed threads. The last function does not work very well anymore.

And I read all Tournament posts.

I'm with MikoYAWN... So really, the Babe Thread and that's about it... :p I tend to stay away from certain threads, but every once in a while, I get stupid and then I remember why I stay away from them. Political/Religous threads... :) I pretty much read the ones that I am interested in. I couldn't possibly spend enough time on here to read everything.
