Well I think any point of view of any historical writer worth respect, but it doesn't mean that any point of view is right. If you are lookingfor the aother sources, I can advise you to read "the life of outstanding people - Stalin(or Lenin)" - it was a communist edition, but even there the successorship(sp?) is not mentioned.
Where are those Direct quotes are taken from? - Whether you used their speeches on some Commissariats - I should say that their speeches are different from the things thy did.

Aahhh.. Forgot - I used Lenin's memoirs

is lenins body is still preserved and showen in red square? or was it removed....i heard something about it once, anyone knows, adn well to SKILORD, i was saying Bifrost might know his rusian history, having beng there gives him first hand experience, i dont know family members who was acctually wthere or something, plus in school they must teach him stuff in detail, no ofence  i am not an expert either, just knows the basics

that's great...... What if I and a Chinese man were arguing about Mao?

would you go with him even if I knew better than him because he's chinese?

(I'm not saying either of us knows better but in this day and age nationality makes precious little difference in matters of history)

Well, well, well.... Day after day I find this site more and more useful, because I see people frankly speaking about us. About 15 minutes ago I've already been sluiced with tons of dirt here. It is even curious, why I'm still allowed to post there.

How can you know our history better? You were studying at a specialized school, where you had 8 hours of Russian history per week?

I might also mention that after Stalin's death in order to distance themselves from the purges leaders of the USSR did everything in their power to make Stalin seem evil and to seperate him from Lenin.

(Lookin through the Commie history book again)
Lenin introduced mass terror, concentration camps to the russian people
Lenin created the Personal Dictatorship that he and Stalin used. lenin authorised vauge laws to allow those he felt threatened him to perish at a whim.

Kruschev and Trotsky spread the rumors about how Stalinism depaartd vastly from Leninism.

frankly i apologise..... however i still maintain that Anti-Stalin propaganda is rampant in your nation.

yes, Stalin's body was there originally with Lenins but was removed early in the Anti Stalin information purges.

I can nevernevernevernevernevernever believe this, and none of my former teachers, and professors I mix with will never agree with you. Lenin was a typical representative of so-called "romantic communist epoque" as for example Zinoviev, Kamenev were, Stalin was a typical representative of "terror communist epoque" as Trotski and Beria

Beleive as you will then..... deify Lenin if you must.

personally i beleive differently.

Which of us is right i won't say. But i have full conviction in my words. While, as you said, things look different from the outside. which of these veiws is correct? Is there any way to know?

But as Moltov said (I'm coming to love this quote):
"Lenin of course... I recall how he scolded Stalin for his softness and Liberalism"

I finally found the Direct Quote.

Richard Pipes is the History professor at Harvard. He has written several books on the USSR, among them Communism: a History.
He served on Regans National Security council specialising in Soviet and East Europe affairs. in 1992 he was an expert witness in the Russian court's trial against the Communist party of the Soviet Union.

I'm tired to look for rudeness in my dictionary

Just a simple advise: burn all your propaganda history textbooks, learn Russian and read Lenin's memoirs in original.
You want to know the truth about Lenin, than read books by Lenin and do not refer to any other writer

My order would be
1) Stalin
2) Pol Pot
3) Hitler
I like my lists.

Hey!

I have a supporter!

Propoganda History?
Propoganda History?

did you not see the author's credentials? The man teaches history at Harvard for goodness sakes! He speaks in his book how the Soviet Union after Stalin came to deify Lenin and came to spread rumors of how Stalin's reign was a great mistake! You are the victim of propaganda, not I! I will read Lenin's histories but can you be sure that some soviet censor didn't play with those?

Why shouldn't I refer to any other writer though? Did you not refer to others?

I declare myself now out of this argument for toinight. You may continue to make faces if you must, but I will be no party to this now, i shall leave you now.

well i voted for stalin......not lenin......he would be one of the last ones i would vote for, my list :
Stalin or hitler
Mao
Khan
Pol POt
