Post map requests here

A problem :( ?

Hello Map Builders,
I am a casual gamer and have enjoyed Civilization 2 for about 8 years. I recently purchased Civ 4 Complete, but I have had no success making the scenario of my liking in World Builder. This may sound strange, but I simply enjoy playing multiplayer hotseats building up worlds. I would really appreciate it if someone could make me the following map:

Giant earth map, Multiplayer capability, with the following civs and their respective leaders in their historically accurate starting locations:

If 18 civs is the limit:
America – Washington
Arabia – Saladin
Aztecs – Montezuma
China - Mao Zedong
Egypt - Ramesses II
England – Churchill
Ethiopia - Zara Yaqob
France - Louis XIV
Germany – Bismarck
India – Gandhi
Japan – Tokugawa
Khmer - Suryavarman II
Mali - Mansa Musa
Mongolia - Genghis Khan
Native Americans - Sitting Bull
Rome - Augustus Caesar
Russia – Stalin
Spain – Isabella

No other mods or anything.

This would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Optional: I have seen certain mods with more than 18 playable civs at once. If this is possible, feel free to put all the civs in their historiacally accurate starting locations

I need a map of France for my Hundred Years' War mod. A big one. Anyone got one?

I've tried to make one myself but I stink at it. The form of France becomes all wrong and I can't even make rivers without screwing them up. I can pull the Rhône, from north to south, but rivers going other directions, like the Seine, and taking turns, are impossible.

I tried using MapView too, but its maps CtD and don't work in-game.

I wouldn't just have France. The French raided the English coast frequently in the 1300s so having at least Southern England would be good. What you really need is one with the entire British Isles too, so you can get Scotland and the English possessions in Ireland on there.

Oh yes. You are right.

I have a number of smaller maps already in my mod. They all depict France, southern England and also Burgundy and a part of Spain and were cut out from a Vanilla Civ map. But they are two small for the big senario I now want to produce.

In those smaller maps, I have France and England as the main contenders, but also include the Duchy of Burgundy (which even gets its own scenario) and Navarre in Northern Spain. Those two are the minor participants in the conflict. I have simulated the Scottish invasions of England with Barbarian raids in the part of southern England that my map actually covers.

The map I am looking for now, also includes the same parts of France, Burgundy, Spain and indeed England. I will simulate the rest of England - those parts left out by the map - by making the cities and towns in southern England most powerful and productive.

I have done a map that I am satisfied with right now. It took me an entire day! And it's not quite right as yet. France is too "long" and the Mediterranean coast doesn't seem right, but it will suffice. Only thing now, is that I can't open it in the World Builder. I actually produced it in MapView and can't get the settlers to work, so each time I open it in the game, it says "you have been defeated" and breaks to the score menu... Obviously because I don't have any units. Weird, since I've placed settlers in MapView.

I'm making progress though.

Im sure there is a earth map already out there like this, or theres probably some simple fix to this but i cant seem to find it. I looking for a earth map that allows you to change any nation as if you were playing a custom game.

Actually scratch my last map request i know i change my mind alot  anyway, instead of T.A Barron's Fincayra could i have a standard sized Europe w Asia map for warlords with these civs

Rome
Greece
Celts
Carthage

Hey map buildings! I need a map of Southern African stretching from the Zambezi river in the North to Capetown in the south. I'm making a South African mod.

This is sort of a request, but I doubt if anyone will take it up. Could someone take up the Peters Projection?

Spoiler :

I'm sure a lot of people know about this by now, but if you don't it is a more realistic portrayal of actual land-mass sizes in the world (compared to the Mercator projection, which is what we are more used to). If anyone could make it that would be awesome. :goodjob:

I could do it; but I'm way too busy with school & other affairs ATM, & I still have other maps of mine pending. About a greek world map; do you know about Ptolemy's World Map?--That one shows the Old World with a decent level of accuraccy; but nonetheless, it's an old-styled map. You would certainly need NW Europe if you intend to include Rome properly; & the 600 BC Greek World Map doesn't portray that..

Well I have to be honest. I have two other maps to maintain, and I don't really have much interest in continuing it anymore. It may happen in the future, but I wouldn't count on it. Sorry.

However, I'm posting what I have here for the chance that someone will want to finish it. If one amongst you does take it up, please let me know.

I'm taking a look what parts do I need to workk on? what map were you using as a source?

There's no external map editor like there was in Civ 3. You have to start a game and open up WorldBuidler in the menu to edit maps. Or you can download Greyhound's excellent MapView program from the utilities forum and use that.
