I'm starting my Europe map as well. 
Haven't decided on the finale size yet, but it is looking to be 244 x 150.
I haven't if I should add in Greenland, Iceland, North Africa, or how deep I should expand into Asia. So Size might change.

I don't think you should go very deep into Asia or Africa. I personally don't think you should go as far into the Atlantic as to add Greenland.

I'm thinking to the line of Cape Verde in the south, to Svalbard in the north.
I want to include the Caucasus and Iceland, and have enough room for a small Kazakhi civilization in the very east.
My plans in the future is to extend my map to include all of Western Civilization, from Pakistan-Central Asia-Westernmost Siberia to the area of the 13 colonies in USA, and Atlantic Canada. (I will cut down the size of the Atlantic Ocean to accommodate this) and from Svalbard in the North to the Sahel region in the South of Africa. (I want to include Ethiopia). Effectively making the two regions that make up Western Civilization - Europe and Arabia.

Awesome. You can never have too many Europe maps, especially giant ones.
It's going faster than I anticipated. Maybe in a week or so at this rate.
Nice! Can you even work on it? Seems pretty heavy!

@ Jabarto: How are resources going? Are you doing this for a 50 civ DLL Rev-DCM or what? I want to know this so I know if I need to get a special DLL for it. Thanks for any help.
@ TheLastOne36: Are you doing very well on resource placement. Also what DLL are you using for it? I might use it for an American Revolution mod and A World War II european map.

Heh, it can be annoying at times. Going the the TeamReveal remover causes my GPU to flip out. SO I"m going to have to use Gvim or something ot clear that.
I'll make a version of it for default Civ 4 and one for RevDCM. Resources are going okay, I guess. I'm not that well versed in how they are distributed in real life.

Okay thanks I just know some DLLs will make the scenario crash unless you use that certain DLL.

I'm going to try to balance the resources well, but I will give a slight advantage to the 'big' civilization areas (England, France, Germany, Iberia, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy and Poland) to give them an advantage in game. (So similar civs become more dominant as in real life) (Note, Russia is so big that I won't need to do this as sooner or later they will expand to the resources).
Also what do I do with Russia? It will be far to big for just one civ alone. I think I will have to include Novgorad, Moscowy, Tartar, Astrakhan, and Mongol civs.

@ Jabarto: How close are you to finishing now? I could really use that map.
@ TheLastOne36: How are you doing on yours? It's a great idea and I do want to do some more on certain area scenarios so this would help a lot.
Could someone make a giant map for:
Asia
Africa
North America
and
South America
These would be very helpful if they had correct resources and starting locations.

Well, I got sidetracked a bit because I started work on a giant Eurasia map that includes part of the Americas. But for my Earth map, all I really have to do is finish up Asia and North America. I can probably have it up late tonight or tomorrow.

Urgh, there's been a setback. I forgot to save some of my work recently, so I have to redo two continents.
It still shouldn't be much longer, though.

Well, I hate to disappoint but I haven't gotten much farther with it. I'm getting back into modding Titan Quest, as well as developing my own Civ 4 mod, so that's where most of my time has been spent. I still need to do North America, as well as place rivers and resources.
