Post new Civ requests here

I wish they would just have a create a leader/create a civ interface function like the WWE Smackdown games and the EA Sports games have. That would make life so much easier and it would make for a much better game.

A Venezuelan civ would be nice.

Veneuzela is a country located on the northeastern side of South America. Recieves its name from the explorer Americo Vespuccio, who called it "Small Venice".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venezuela

It's been inhabited by humans from about 15,000 years ago. It was inhabited by several indian tribes till the sixteenth century, when it was made a Spanish Colony. For about 300 years, it stood under control of the Spanish. There were several attempts to make Venezuela an independent country. Till a man called Simon Bolivar managed to do it.

Simon Bolivar then freed about 5 more countries in South America.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simón_Bolívar

Since then it has had several political problems. Venezuela had 2 Dictators and the country was in constant Civil war, for many leaders surged and leaded masses of armed civilians to take the presidential post (these "leaders" were called Caudillos). Rest of the presidents haven't been as good as expected. Right now it's been governed by a really bad president, who is on its ways to be a dictator. His name: Hugo Chavez. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Chavez

Even though he's been a bad president, he's been a leader, he's managed to lead people into what he calls a "Revolution".

Right now Venezuela is between the 10 top oil producers in the world.

Hey, I'm relatively new here, and I was wanting to know if anyone would be interested in making a Stargate Atlantis Civ, since everything else about Stargate is for Civ3.

Atlantean Civilization
Starts with: The Wheel and Fishing
UU: Atlantean Warship (Aurora-Class)(30% str bonus vs. land units), and Puddlejumper (has a cloak to become invisible to other players, 10% str bonus vs. land units)

Unique Building:Atlantis (Replaces Capital City, Twice the cultural range as a normal city, has a special Drone Attack that can attack enemies within adjacent squares, +1 happiness in all cities, +1 commerce in 4 cities that are closest)

Leaders:

Elizabeth Weir
Traits: either Philosophical or Creative, and either Expansive or Industrious
Favorite Civic: Universal Suffrage
(She was the first leader of the Atlantis Expedition)

Samantha Carter
Traits: Industrious and Organized
Favorite Civic: Free Religon (+10% research in all cities)
(She was the second leader of Atlantis, after Weir)

John Sheppard
Traits: Aggressive and Organized
Favorite Civic: Nationhood
(He was closest to Weir, and has potential to lead)
(there are already leadheads of them floating around here somewhere...)

Extra techs, along with the normal ones:
(If possible, each is avaliable to every civ, besides Drones)

Spoiler :
StarDrive (Requires every technology besides Future Tech, allows the capital city of a civilization to relocate to another position, causes three turns of Anarchy in the city, restarts culture from 1)

Drones (Comes after Energy Weapons, allows the production of Drones, and can by used in Atlantis, Atlantean WS, and Puddlejumper, enables a specialized "Drone" attack that does more damage than a normal weapon, but has a limited amount of ammo, and has to return to Atlantis to restock the supply of Drones)

Long Range Communications (Requires Radio, Mass Media, Computers, and Satellites, +1 movement to all units)

Energy Weapons (Requires Computer, Satellites, Fusion, Fiber Optics, replaces Gunpowder weapons, needed for Atlantean WS, Atlantis, Puddlejumper)

Teleportation (Requires Flight, Robotics, Fiber Optics, Fusion, Electricity, allows instant transportation to another city from a city, unit still has movement points)

ATA Gene (Requires Genetics, Computers, Medicine, Biology, reveals people who can operate the Chair in Atlantis, needed to control Atlantean WS, Atlantis, Puddlejumper, Drones)

Energy Shielding (Requires Fusion, Fission, Physics, Computers, Fiber Optics, non-depleated ZPM, provides shielding for Atlantean WS, Atlantis, and other cities, +30% defence in city with an activated Shield)(An activated shield drains 1% of the ZPM/turn that it is active, but if the object that is being shielded is under attack, the ZPM is drained an additional 0.2 X damage done in addition to the 1%)

Long Range Sensors (Requires Long Range Communications, doubles the cultural range of the Atlantis)

ZPM (Requires Fusion, Fission, Physics, Computers, Genetics, Robotics, replaces all other energy methods in the city it powers (coal, hydro, nuclear, etc.). Required for Drones, Energy Shielding, Star Drive, reveals the means to make a ZPM.

How the ZPM works (to save space, lol)
Spoiler :
(a ZPM can power many things, but it does run out eventually and they are EXTREMELY costly to make, and a person can only be in posession of up to 1 ZPM with a charge percentage of <15%, 2 if the charge of one is less than 15%, and three if two of the ZPM's have >5%).

A ZPM is drained 0.1%/turn/city when inactive, and when the shield is activated, it is drained 1%/city shielded + 0.1%/city linked (if the shielded city is attacked, an additonal + 0.1% times the amount of damage done is added to the 1%/shielded city and 0.1%/city linked, if there are no units in the city that is being attaked that can retaliate).

EX: if a unit has 30 str, then the ZPM would be drained 3% + 1%/shielded city +0.1%/city linked (1 in this case) = 4.1% drained
(A ZPM can be "linked" to other cities, so that one ZPM can power more than one, and the inactive depletion rate is increased by 0.1%, regardless of the distance)

I'll probably think of some more later, but I'm open to criticism. If anyone has any suggestions, please either Post them or PM them to me. Anyone up to it?

wouldn't jose's fav civ be state property because he took complete control of the derricks

I would rather look for an ancient Venezuelan tribe or aboriginal culture (mainly due to my obsession with extinct civs), however It would be interesting to play a mod of the south American independence wars, which include a Venezuela civ under Simon Bolivar, Argentina civ under San Martin, and The Viceroyalty of Peru civ under the Viceroy José Fernando de Abascal y Sousa, (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viceroyalty_of_Peru ) and a viceroyalty of New Granada civ under the viceroy Juan de la Cruz Mourgeón ( see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viceroyalty_of_New_Granada )

there is already a Venezualian civ- In the downloads section.
What is really needed is ....

Trojan Empire :scan:
Dark Teal colored
Leader- Priam- Protective/Organized
Favorite Civic- Free Market....Starting Techs- Agriculture/Wheel
UB- Trojan Walls- replaces walls (+1 Happiness)
UU-Two-man Chariot-+25 vs mounted units-does get Def. bonus

Elaeus, Patara , Xanthos, Apeasus, Ephesus ,Smyma, Sardis, Miletus, Mylasa, Tlos, Pinara, Ismara, Cyzicus

by god your right, however it is for Warlords. Looking through the civs there are many that are outdated or not there. They need to edit that list. How about

Prussian Empire

Favored Civic- Free Speech ... starts with Mining/Pottery
UB-AirStation-replaces Airport (+1 health-inf units here can paradrop )
UU-Zeppelin-replaces Airship (starts with CombatI/RangeI)

Check out CIV Gold 4.0 for a BtS Trojan civ done by me (LH art by the CIV Gold team). I also have the same civ in my modpack which I hope to post this weekend for BtS (see previews in my sig). My modpack will include Varietas Delectat, BUG Mod & Bhruic's Unofficial Patch as well as 44 new civs including Troy. Currently, CIV Gold 4.0 includes a ton of new civs but no other components such as Varietas Delectat.

If you just want a Trojan civ by itself for BtS, you may want to download CIV Gold as all their civs are modular and you may be able to just copy the Troy module into a new mod for your own use.

thank you for all the information there- most gracious. Good luck on ur release this weekend.
-edit- Nice job on that Trojan Civ. Good color/traits choice
and who wouldn't like the Trojan Horse backdrop for the LH.

I request:

Firenze: Lorenzo de Medici

Venezia: Agostino Barbarigo

Papal States: Urban II

Milano: Francesco I Sforza

Italia: Vittorio Emmanuel II

If anyone can add more Italian city-states, please do.....

CIV Gold 4.0 currently has Italy with Lorenzo de Medici and Vittorio Emmanuel II as leaders, if that interests you.

As to other inquiries...

Gold also has a Trojan civ (as noted by Amra) and a Bolivarian civ, represented by the countries liberated by Bolivar - Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador and Bolivia.
