Post new Civ requests here

I am not sure if an Indo-European civilization would be proper. Couldn't you make it a little more specific? Like the Vedic Aryans or something like that? And Arjuna is a mythological figure from the Mahabarata (or whatever), so isn't he a bit more Indian? Or at least, as I said, Vedic Aryan?

I do have a request though. Well, a few of them actually. In my mod I am going to have a feature where certain "Super-Barbian" civs can spawn during the game. I was going to split these into four distinctly styled civs:

1) Sea People - Based on the Philistines/Actual Sea People. I can provide a flag decal (and a button too). Their color should be an "Ice Blue" color and black. Their UU should be some type of melee unit, probably an axeman based unit, but weilding a spear (in the same vein as the Phalanx), they should get a city attack bonus and get the amphibious attack bonus and not require resources. Their UB should give their ships extra movement.

2) The Horde - Based on the Mongol-Turkic tribes of central asia (Timurids, Huns, Mongols etc.). Again I can provide a flag decal and a button, their color should be Orange and black (if I wasn't clear with the last civ, the flag should be black and the symbol colored). Their UU should be a Knight replacement, since they will spawn in the medieval era, it shouldn't require any resources at all. Just like before it should have a city attack bonus, but also have a bonus against melee units. Their UB should be like the Mongolian Ger but better somehow, I haven't thought it through just yet but I can change any of this.

3) Pirates - Basic pirate civ. For their UU I haven't quite figured it out, but probably a type of ship, one that could carry extra men would be good. Their UB should allow their ships to heal faster, their ships to get XP points, and for them to construct ships 100% faster. Their color should be a red jolly roger on a black flag

Now, you might ask yourself; "why do they get such buffed up stuff? It isn't balanced." The idea is not for balance, these civs are not meant to be playable, they are meant to pop-up and annoy you. The reason their flags should all be black is because they are barbarians and I want them to look that way, but you will be able to tell what type they are by the color.

You may further ask yourself; "Can't you do this Capo? You know how to make civs!" Well I could certainly do this myself, but I am requesting it because I am working on a big mod and this would save me a lot of time, plus I intend on making leaderheads for all of these civs too. I will also give them their own flavored sets (which means making units) which means even more time. Basically I am asking for help. City names are not that important, but I'd like to have a decent city-list, you can even make them up if you want but I'd like them to fit the real-life civs/groups they are based upon. Basically the idea here is for barbarians that are more difficult than just the normal run-of-the-mill barbarians.

I don't know if anything like this has been done before, but I am hoping to get them to act like "better barbarians," I am not sure if it is possible but I even want to give them leaders that will ransom back cities they take from you (in some cases) and maybe more. It is still an idea in its infancy, but I think it might be worth a try.

I will do the Pirates for you... I am going to think about it over the holidays, since I moved to Florida I have taken a big interest in them.
I will PM you later.

Cool, if you need any art for this (flag, unit, building, etc.) just let me know.

For "The Horde", may I suggest just using the Huns civ that has been floating around here. when I play, I typically have them spawn at some point during the game using J's "Spawn-A-Civ" python code.
However, I make a few changes to the code.
For their Unique Unit:
I called it a Tarkan (which seems fairly common), but I have it replace the War Elephant, with a bonus of +1 movement. I do this for a couple of reasons:
a) The Hunnic military was centered around speed. Elephants would have slowed them down, replacing the elephant gives them a strong mounted unit, one that can rival the praetorian. that has the speed that they would use.
b) They used Horseback Archers, so replacing that didn't seem to make sense, seeing as if the unit was replaced with a spear wielding horseman, they effectivly cannot build their primary weapon.
Given those 2 reasons, I thought having the Tarkan replace the Elephant to make much more sense. So for a brief period of time, the Huns have the strongest Mounted Unit, similar to the way Rome has its Praetorian in the early game to give them an initial conquoring boost at the appropriate period of time.

For their Unique Building though, I changed it in my mod to a Stables replacement that increases war weariness in other civs (like the Statue of Zeus's benefit), to mimic the "fear" factor that the Huns may have introduced during there rampage. This way, Stables become obsolete at some pont and the fear benefit will be nulified. I cannot take credit, it was a concept that tsentom uses in his mod.

If you want me to put that together for you, I can, making the changes that you mentioned, I have a button/flag (its a lighter brown with black), but it could easily be reversed and changed to an orange color).

Philistia is one of the ancient Middle East civs I am working on. I don't think I'm going to focus much on the "sea peoples" aspect, because the idea that the Philistines were the sea peoples is only one of many theories about the sea peoples. Not much specific information is known about them.

However, if you like I will let you know when it is completed, and I could probably use some help thinking of specific UU and UB, and city names (as far as I know the Philistines only had five cities: Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ekron, Gath).

Philistia (Philistines)

starts with: Fishing, Hunting
Leader: Abimelech (Aggressive, Industrious)

I'd like to see German East Africa, Burgundy, New Guinea, Xia Dynasty, West Florida and Suriname.

For Suriname, I suggest-

Johan Ferrier (using maybe C. Roland's Black President LH) Phi, Org, Emancipation or Universal Suffrage, Christianity

UU - Korps Speciale Troepen (KST) the Surinamese Special Forces (I couldn't really find anything :dunno:)

UB - ? Something involving bauxite?

It was an actual nation, believe it or not.

Fine West Florida was a silly idea but how about Haiti, it hasn't been done yet and could be interesting.

Hasn't been done yet?! Tell that to The Capo! We have a civ, LHs, UU, UB and even unit art!

really:confused:? I haven't seen it yet, was it done recently?

It was in his Americas modpack for Diplomacy. Unfortunately, you can't dl it right now, but I believe it will be available again soon as The Capo is almost done on Diplomacy II.
EDIT: What you can dl right now is the Toussaint L'Ouverture LH for Haiti.

I know they're both imaginary countries, could someone please do Nafrece and Gazth-Sonika from Madlax?
