The Capo
godless Heathen
I am not sure if an Indo-European civilization would be proper. Couldn't you make it a little more specific? Like the Vedic Aryans or something like that? And Arjuna is a mythological figure from the Mahabarata (or whatever), so isn't he a bit more Indian? Or at least, as I said, Vedic Aryan?
I do have a request though. Well, a few of them actually. In my mod I am going to have a feature where certain "Super-Barbian" civs can spawn during the game. I was going to split these into four distinctly styled civs:
1) Sea People - Based on the Philistines/Actual Sea People. I can provide a flag decal (and a button too). Their color should be an "Ice Blue" color and black. Their UU should be some type of melee unit, probably an axeman based unit, but weilding a spear (in the same vein as the Phalanx), they should get a city attack bonus and get the amphibious attack bonus and not require resources. Their UB should give their ships extra movement.
2) The Horde - Based on the Mongol-Turkic tribes of central asia (Timurids, Huns, Mongols etc.). Again I can provide a flag decal and a button, their color should be Orange and black (if I wasn't clear with the last civ, the flag should be black and the symbol colored). Their UU should be a Knight replacement, since they will spawn in the medieval era, it shouldn't require any resources at all. Just like before it should have a city attack bonus, but also have a bonus against melee units. Their UB should be like the Mongolian Ger but better somehow, I haven't thought it through just yet but I can change any of this.
3) Pirates - Basic pirate civ. For their UU I haven't quite figured it out, but probably a type of ship, one that could carry extra men would be good. Their UB should allow their ships to heal faster, their ships to get XP points, and for them to construct ships 100% faster. Their color should be a red jolly roger on a black flag
Now, you might ask yourself; "why do they get such buffed up stuff? It isn't balanced." The idea is not for balance, these civs are not meant to be playable, they are meant to pop-up and annoy you. The reason their flags should all be black is because they are barbarians and I want them to look that way, but you will be able to tell what type they are by the color.
You may further ask yourself; "Can't you do this Capo? You know how to make civs!" Well I could certainly do this myself, but I am requesting it because I am working on a big mod and this would save me a lot of time, plus I intend on making leaderheads for all of these civs too. I will also give them their own flavored sets (which means making units) which means even more time. Basically I am asking for help. City names are not that important, but I'd like to have a decent city-list, you can even make them up if you want but I'd like them to fit the real-life civs/groups they are based upon. Basically the idea here is for barbarians that are more difficult than just the normal run-of-the-mill barbarians.
I don't know if anything like this has been done before, but I am hoping to get them to act like "better barbarians," I am not sure if it is possible but I even want to give them leaders that will ransom back cities they take from you (in some cases) and maybe more. It is still an idea in its infancy, but I think it might be worth a try.
