do ya no when ya citie is at 12 how do you get past that????

Two ways:

1. Learn the tech, Sanitation.
2. If you get the Great Wonder, Shakespeare's Theater, the one city in which you build it can grow beyond 12.

wat is the other way to get past 12 i have done it before lodz of time but i dont realli no how i did it that all wats a gd way to get it past 12

Look up. I think I just answered that for you. :D

P.s. Grandma, you forgot to tell AshMan105 that when he gets to Sanitation, he still has to build a Hospital in each city that he wants to become a Metro! (Viz. > 12 citizens.) ;)

P.p.s. A tip for you, AshMan105:
The best place to ask general questions and get quick answers is in the Quick Answers thread!:

Hey Hello fellow civvers.

There's so many pages here I don't know if my strategy has been said or not.

Build roads and railroads. Insanely simple, I know, and you've probably already thought of this.

But anyway, under Republic, which so far works pretty good, you get bonus commerce, so I have 1 town, size 5 or so, roads completely surrounding it, and I get summat like 15 commerce a turn from it. That takes care of the 6 gold for the 3 units in it, and it's improvements with gold to spare!

Also makes it easy to clean pollution up, the turn you get it.

I'm sure people have thought of this, but I just wanted to make sure. I mean, I've turned no good, none producing towns into a nice trade network and all, with just roads.

Oh and one more thing, is that when you're at war and the enemy sends men in to pillage and disconnect towns, it is very hard for them to do it, because your town has tons of connections.

Happy civing!

a little obvious dontya think

Well, yes it is obvious, but it wasn't an insult to your intelligence, if that's what you thought.

Anyway, I thought it might help at least someone.

And I qoute the first page starter.

Post your tips that are so simple, they shouldn't even need to be said.

Anywho, I'm new to here, you got any good tips?

I left plenty. Anyway, im just saying, we civfanatics are pretty skilled here, this topic was made to give some advanced tips that find or help the player out.

Sorry if i insulted you. I play on Emperor so it can only be me.

While it is eventually advantageous to road every tile, you should focus first on roading those tiles which your citizens are working, and passing over the ones they are not.

Um, I disagree about this topic (or thread) being made for advanced tips only. When I joined 3 years ago, this is one of the places I began reading. I learned a lot, even though I was only on Chieftain then. I think the emphasis here is on "short", rather than long discussions, but it's for all levels. :)

My short tip is: Use clean map to see what's there often. There's been many times that I missed a resource or some other terrain feature that would be important to know.

Also, the clean map controls allow you to chose what's shown, so you can adjust it for more information.

"A general round of thanks for various peoples"

I'm off to the faq, 'cause there's so many acronyms around this place.

See ya around the forums, as I haven't anything else to say at the moment.

always forest the tundra, i know it sounds silly, but when you forest them, you get 2 shields, but mining without a railroad gets you 1 sheild, and that late in the game to get 2 shields that you could be using in the midieval ages to make more improvements

seperate your offensive units from your cities from the defensive units and put them all in built up forts, so when you go to war, it makes things easier to get prepared.

If you play on regicide, nuke the capital, and kill the leader, very simple :nuke:

Aim always for the enemy cities that are size lower than 6 first, citis higher than 6 have defensive bonuses, save em for later with mass forces or precesion bombing to reduce size easily.

In a war, aim for your foes road-connected luxuries and take the roads out, they'll then would have to deal with a some extra war weariness in the war wouldnt you say.

Have the US convince Cuba to change to Democracy..oh wait, that was the news today. sorry

Aim for enemies under Democracy, WW is high, obvious yes.

Il think of more later.

Try to plan out a war strategy beforehand, and decide which cities are vital to conquer, and which are not. Use the blitzkrieg technique like the Germans during WW2, attack fast and with fast, powerful units, sending slow infantry to mop up resistance. Try to take as many cities as you can in one turn (my record is 8). Having armies, bombers, artillery, insanely powerful stuff only makes it that much easier.

Capture the enemy capital. The capital often has Great Wonders. The capital usually is adding a lot of culture per turn. Even if it flips back, the enemy has to rebuild culture improvements.

You must have 3 armies to start and to finish building the Pentagon. An army with 4 units can more easily destory units in a city.

well. create your first army, and it makes it much easier to build the Pentagon once you complete the Military Academy, make sure the military academy is built in a very industrious city (a city which produces alot of shields) cuz armies are very expensive.

when i ghave heavily corrupted cities when i give them civil engineers the etra shields are also sorrupt, so i have to use policemen. rather annoying
The civil engineers doesn't affect the wasted shields. The civil engineer does improve the turns to complete the improvement. So look at that to see if a civil engineer will reduce the number of turns to complete.
