Yes, I agree with you...........But, it's still a good tip......and that's the name of the thread!

This isn't cheating...Or an exploit.
Alright, my bad lol.Yes, thank you Bllasae for your wonderful advice, or tip, or whatever you just told me. I GET the picture. OK?
Naw, I'm just kidding. Its just that that post was a while ago and many people have already commented like that. I'm just a little rough around the edges right now, so sorry for blowing up on you like that.![]()
No..........Notice anything about that post that interests you?
I notice that it's not hosted here. The smilie is different. Look closer.
With a dominance game in mind the only unit I considered really useful for armies was the MA, recently I discovered the usefulness of armies consisting of Marines. Amphibious Armies are way more effective than all those individual Marines going in one at a time.
For my money, any unit is useful for an army at the time you get a MGL. I once had a horseman army; I snickered a little bit, but that didn't stop me from building it, using it, & playing smackdown with my nearest neighbors. (special circumstances; swordsmen were a ways away & an immediate army was useful right then. Besides, I wanted a chance for more MGLs.)

Horsemen Armies are fine and usually the best way to go.........But be careful: because they have such low defensive values, the AI will attack (and quite often defeat) them.![]()

Yes, that changed, unit special abilities will be transferred into army.capnvonbaron said:Um... in vanilla, marines lose their amphib assault feature when put into armies. Did that change for PTW/C3C?
An army only gains a special ability if all of the units in the army have that ability (e.g. an army of 2 marines and one rifle cannot make amphibious attacks).
My original intent about armies was more focused on the end game and since armies can't be upgraded I tend to build armies without filling them until I have Modern Armor. I usually just disband out-dated armies of cavalry or tanks. Of course I am playing PTW so I only have GL but I think the concepts are the same for MGL, sounds like it anyway.
@Snarkhunter: Perhaps it's time to promote yourself to a higher level of play.............Unless you already play at Sid Level!![]()
By endgame, I usually am just about to get tanks; it's very rare that a game last long enough to get Modern Armor. . . .
