never for me. and never will neither.
won't contaminate my body with that stuff.
a beer or twelve on the other hand... :D

The Pimp Formerly Known as Money$ims has never smoked pot and he never will. His family has an addictive gene, plus, he respects the law and he doesn't want to get arrested. And he wouldn't do it if it was legal since he thinks it's gross.

I must say I'm surprised to see Lefty post and not close the thread. Is this a change in rules or possibly because the discussion is good? :goodjob:

I'm with DP. Good post DP. :goodjob:

i've tried it 2 times, Only when I'm really down tho. I'm never smoking that crap again, it is hard to pass a drug test with it in your system. I'm an alcohol type of guy. ;)

Tried it once to see if it's really as wonderful as all my friends said it is and didn't like it. Needless to say I didn't keep on smoking marijuana, despite all the peer pressure put upon me and I refuse to succumb to peer pressure. I wasn't too sorry about it either; my whole body is far better off without it. Better things to do than smoke pot.

Though, I'm all up for legalizing marijuana. It is probably the stupidest thing to be thrown in jail for and we could easily do without. It's about at the same level as tobacco, but you don't see cigarettes or other tobacco products illegal.

I've tried it just a few times. It hasn't done much for me. I much prefer drinking.

My sister, on the other hand, is/was the biggest stoner known to man. Yet, who could argue against her, she is getting straight As at an Ivy League University (Cornell). She's the pothead spokesperson, I guess. :)

Im a regular. I go months smoking pot almost everyday and months without.

I am afraid I will want to do something that requires a blood test sometime, so I could never do this.

Besides, I only found it moderately fun.

Perhaps twice a year.. When I visit my childhood friends, who smoke a lot. Don't get much out of it, though, as I am always hammered when I do it :crazyeye:

Amen to that Superevie :D

Hashish, like most drugs, inhibits, "narrows", "widens", and in certain aspects strengthens different areas of cognition, metacognition, and perception. Any areas of consciousness that are thus affected will interact with others in several different combinations that will equal the brunt of the sense of intoxication. Hashish, as I have found out, in order to keep the experience insightful, meaningful, and at times epiphanic, must be taken, if regularly, no more than once a week. It will soon get old if not. Plus you will lose perspective of sober perception. Marijuana will only inhibit you if you are naturally a procrastinator, prone to bouts of hedonism, and do not appereciate a virtually perspiration-independent, but chemically-induced change in perception and cognition, or are simply "dull" during sobriety. If you have a hard time dealing with depersonalization and mesmerism, then NO psychedelic drugs are for you, and you had best stick with alcohol. Although I use the term "psychedelic" in reference to hash loosely.
Marijuana intoxication is unique from other psychedelics as it lets one be the proverbial "painter of the canvas", if you will. LSD tends to tell me to use all colors overlapping and without purpose, and shows me that it is all colors and no colors simultaneously. LSD shows absolutism. THC inspires the creative and free-associating areas of the mind and is heavy on relativity and appreciating conflicting ideas or suspended judgement.

Some people read into experiences more than others. Understand, everyone's exeperience will differ on at least some accounts.

Listen kids: if you want to use hash to "heighten" superficial enjoyment then wait at least until it is legal where you live. It is physically and lawfully more dangerous than alcohol at this point in most of the Western world, and alcohol in small doses is actually healthy, marijuana is not. But in larger doses marijuana is immensely safer. On the other hand, if you wish to use a controlled substance to strengthen your perspective and aesthetic sense, then marijuana is innummerably superior, since alcohol does nothing more than strengthen pre-conceived notions, both false and accurate, indiscriminately. Also, when taking marijuana via the lungs, use a vaporizer since the vapor has a negligible amount of carcinogens and tar.

Whoa! This is very one sided, so I feel obligated to step in.

While I could debate how much worse alcohol, nicotine, & even caffeine(debatably) is for you then weed, we all know that so there’s not really much of a point in going there.

I experimented with a lot of drugs throughout high school starting with pot in 8th grade, but as I grew older I put away childish things, with one exception; I smoke weed at least once a day(and that’s being lenient). If you saw me walking down the street would you ever have any idea?? Not a chance. I’m not the typical get stoned & sit around watching Half-Baked for 6 hours, can’t say a sentence in under 25 seconds, dropped out of high school, dreadlock having, tie-dye wearing, no motivation potheads. I’d drop it in a second if I every did any of those things.

I’m also had a 4.25 when graduating high school & was accepted to Duke. If it was pot that lowered my initiative and made me decide to go to UNCW instead, everyday that I wake up & can see the ocean out my window I’m further in its debt.

Well, I am dutch so the most of the visitors probably think I live in a windmill, wear wooden shoes and smoke pot all day, right?

Wrong.

Never did smoke pot or use any other drugs, apart from alcohol, and caffeïne. I HATE wooden shoes and live in a regular appartment.

I am a bit surprised about attitudes in this thread. I mean, I think it is OK to say you'll never use drugs (define drugs???), and never did use it in the past. But some people even say they'll never respect people who do use drugs. I think that is silly, just the same as saying you won't respect people because they are drinking Pepsi instead of Coke. Don't get that. Can someone explain?

I never buy any myself, but if someone offers me a freebie I won't be so rude to say "no thanks" :)

Rarely happens tho, 2-3 times/year

I've tried it lots of times but never really got into it. For some it relaxs and makes them talkative, for me it just makes me withdrawn and antisocial.
I don't get high on it, it takes me down a few notchs. I never understood its appeal. Its good for listening to music though.

I've heard some people say its not addictive, well most people that i know who smoke it can't do without it, it takes over there lives. I think its one of the most addictive drugs out there, and all of them agree.
Its probably a pyscological addiction, but its a strong addiction all the same. The mixing with tobbacco I'm sure adds to it the craving for it.
I've tried a good varity of other drugs and never seen anyone get so 'hooked' as i've seen people on hash.

Anyway, more on the subject, yes I do smoke weed, only occasionnaly and I pesonnaly prefer to do it with a (I don't know how it's called in english) water pipe of arabian style. I would have a lot of things to say about that subject, but I think it could get me banned so I'll keep it to myself...

Call the water-pipe "sheesha". Weed through that is simply amazing, you get caned in no time.

I love a good smoke, enjoy weed far more than alcohol or cigarettes. Don't do it very often, though, it would lose its splendour, maybe once a month.

In terms of effect I find weed makes me far more creative (!). Some of the best discussions I've ever had have been under the influence with a group of friends. I do not consider it as false happiness or anything like that, it is simply a means to relax.

Also, I would strongly refute these ridiculous arguments about affecting your brain cells and making you ******** etc...Sure, if you spend all day just smoking weed then you are going to be a useless lump, but if you were to spend all day doing any mildly damaging substance you would be a useless lump. Weed is FAR less damaging than alcohol and nicotine, and I don't think it's done me any harm, even though I smoked far more regularly at university.
