Hashish, like most drugs, inhibits, "narrows", "widens", and in certain aspects strengthens different areas of cognition, metacognition, and perception. Any areas of consciousness that are thus affected will interact with others in several different combinations that will equal the brunt of the sense of intoxication. Hashish, as I have found out, in order to keep the experience insightful, meaningful, and at times epiphanic, must be taken, if regularly, no more than once a week. It will soon get old if not. Plus you will lose perspective of sober perception. Marijuana will only inhibit you if you are naturally a procrastinator, prone to bouts of hedonism, and do not appereciate a virtually perspiration-independent, but chemically-induced change in perception and cognition, or are simply "dull" during sobriety. If you have a hard time dealing with depersonalization and mesmerism, then NO psychedelic drugs are for you, and you had best stick with alcohol. Although I use the term "psychedelic" in reference to hash loosely.
Marijuana intoxication is unique from other psychedelics as it lets one be the proverbial "painter of the canvas", if you will. LSD tends to tell me to use all colors overlapping and without purpose, and shows me that it is all colors and no colors simultaneously. LSD shows absolutism. THC inspires the creative and free-associating areas of the mind and is heavy on relativity and appreciating conflicting ideas or suspended judgement.
Some people read into experiences more than others. Understand, everyone's exeperience will differ on at least some accounts.
Listen kids: if you want to use hash to "heighten" superficial enjoyment then wait at least until it is legal where you live. It is physically and lawfully more dangerous than alcohol at this point in most of the Western world, and alcohol in small doses is actually healthy, marijuana is not. But in larger doses marijuana is immensely safer. On the other hand, if you wish to use a controlled substance to strengthen your perspective and aesthetic sense, then marijuana is innummerably superior, since alcohol does nothing more than strengthen pre-conceived notions, both false and accurate, indiscriminately. Also, when taking marijuana via the lungs, use a vaporizer since the vapor has a negligible amount of carcinogens and tar.
