TREATY OF TEMPLE PRIME
​

ARTICLE I: Soulmind and the Empire of the Latter-Day Saints declare the condition of war between them has ceased. They have decided to live in peace and accord in the future.

ARTICLE II: The territories of Temple Smith (now Temple Prime) and Youngland which formerly belonged to the LDS will no longer be under her sovereignty. The LDS gives up all interference in the internal affairs of the said territories. Soulmind intends to determine the future fate of the said territories.

ARTICLE III: The prisoners of war of both parties will be allowed to return home.

ARTICLE IV: The Empire of Latter-Day Saints will make available upon ratification of this peace treaty two (2) State Power to Soulmind.

ARTICLE V: Soulmind agrees to guarantee the independence of the LDS Empire, defined as the government retaining territorial sovereignty over Taylorland.

ARTICLE VI: Diplomatic and consular relations between the contracting parties are resumed at once after the ratification of the treaty of peace.

ARTICLE VII: In interpreting this treaty the authentic texts between Soulmind and Empire of the Latter-Day Saints shall be the Solian texts.

ARTICLE VIII: The present peace treaty must be ratified. Exchange of ratification documents must take place in Thule as soon as possible. The LDS Government binds itself to execute the exchange of ratification documents at the desire of Soulmind in the course of two weeks (OOC: 7 hours, but LDS already agreed to the terms so no biggie). The peace treaty enters into force at the moment of its ratification, unless otherwise stipulated in the respective articles, appendices thereof, or supplemental agreements thereto.

In witness thereof the plenipotentiaries have with their own hand signed the present treaty.

Belarusian city becomes officially pentalingual to promote friendship across borders
The city council in Niezaliežnasć, New West Belarus, has passed a motion to adopt Italian as a "regional language with special status" which makes the border city the first pentalingual municipality in the Commonwealth. Local government officials argue that this was a step in the right direction to open up for cooperation and friendship across borders with their neighbours in the Zheng Union, and that it will benefit the regional economy on both sides of the border. But except for a small number of workers coming in from Nuovo Italia, the city doesn't have many native speakers of Italian so it remains to be seen if this will become anything more than a symbolic gesture. The other languages used in an official capacity in Niezaliežnasć are the three official Commonwealth languages: Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian; and Polish, which is a protected minority language in the Belarusian Nation.

Power shift in the Ukrainian National Assembly after recent elections
An unexpected coalition of the Technocratic Party and the Ukrainian Communist Party has formed after the elections to the Ukrainian National Assembly which saw a significant drop in support for the previous government party, the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, who have been in power for the last two decades. Political experts say this is an unprecedented situation as the Technocrats and the Communists have historically been on different ends of the Ukrainian political spectrum. Anna Hryhorivna, professor in political science at Novoukrainka University, commented however that the combination of populist tendencies within both parties and recent corruption scandals involving Nationalist politicians has given this new alliance a common ground to stand on, but that it is yet unclear what effect this might have on Russian and Belarusian politics. In Defense of Autocracy

The Hemeran Empire was designed to be the state of the future, the one that could rebuild humanity. So why, some ask, did we choose to implement the oldest government known to man? Simply put, it was the only government that SHOULD have been known to man!


The home planet Earth is a graveyard of failed governments and systems. A Republic? Beholden to special interests and factionalism! Democracy, one man one vote on every issue? Susceptible to misinformation and populists, and ill suited to running a government when taxes are never raised and programs are passed left and right! And Corporatism? Everyone hates their job to some extent; why would you want to be governed by it at work AND at home? A Theocracy might have some merit, but on Hemera alone, there are three Popes, whom among others claim monopoly on truth. Communism causes stagnation; Fascism causes hate and fear. Technocracy and Plutocracy allows the elite to build their glory and pursue their pet causes on the backs of the working class.


No, the only government that works is autocracy. Our Empress, the Glorious Anastasia, possesses great wisdom and judgement. She belongs to every person; no matter one’s class or nationality, they can be a nationalist for Her. She has gathered the greatest minds of Her empire and listens to their advice, and determines the path forward for us. There are no special interests; She does what is best for everyone. There is no infighting; all know that the top position is filled indefinitely. As we get closer and closer to solving the mysteries of life and death, we may soon have an Empress who can rule us from now until the end of times.


Her just, benevolent, hand shall soon guide this world. But rest assured, inside her velvet glove is an iron fist. Hemera does not wish for war, but when one commits crimes against this planet’s people, the Empress will not stand idly by.


How lucky of us to have Her guidance.

Rules Changes/Clarifications

-Invading a minor will now remove all influence you have invested in it, including influence added the same turn as the invasion. It’s been kind of silly.

-States can now degrade/upgrade between being a minor/major if it falls below the Global Power Divide, which is based on its total province power (PP), not its total power including power from minors. If a major becomes a minor, it loses all influence in all minors, as well as the ability to add influence, and will no longer be dealt new cards (though it can use the remaining cards in its hand). If a minor becomes a major, all influence other states have in it will be lost, and it will be immediately dealt a full hand, and gain the ability to influence minors.
