End of Empires gets a wiki because it is a fictional world with thousands of years of history and immense world-building by the players. That has yet to occur. If it does occur, it will be years away. At the moment, the only wiki you should need is wikipedia.

I agree. Wiki building since turn one is an exercise in boredom and failure. Wiki holding should occur either when an deeply realized world is built, or such a world has already been built and need he proper support.

...what civil war? I never sent a Freire expedition, unless the game begins after that has already taken place. The civil war only started after the War of the Peru-Bolivia Confederation (or so Wikipedia leads me to believe).

According to this page, Peru had entered some sort of confused civil war as of February 1835. You, President Orbegoso, abandoned the capital to this upstart general, then proceeded to ask Santa Cruz, Bolivia's president, for help. Said help arrived in early 1836 and got you your country back.

Judging from that, you could certainly refuse Bolivia's help, but you'd kind of be without a country.
