Forget that Bickle fella that Mikoyan has for an avatar, this is the original Travis: Malcolm McLaren as Mick Travis, hero of Lindsay Anderson's If.... - Simon's favourite film. :D

Indeed the original Travis. :D Bickle was named for such
That really should be three dots and a lower case i, but one will forgive you. Being a Yorkie is enough punishment in the lottery of life. :p :D
Indeed. The Head Crusader. But not one's favourite character from the film, even though 'twas a great role.
Ah...reminds one of one's school days...:king: :D

I didn't here you calling Starlifter a suck up??

by AoA:
That's cause he did work for me.
Actually, I have helped people with Avatars because I've been meaning to mess with some of the low-end (e.g., simple) image programs.... doing stuff with Avatars has made me learn quite a bit about things, and apply some trickery techniques (the brain does not always interpret what the eye tells it, with objectivity :D ). It's a semi-puzzle "challenge" to get a good crisp avatar in the size limit.

I bet starlifter could do something with this.

Is someone wanting that as an Avatar? Or maybe a part of it as an avatar? In general, a closer up looks better than a wide view, because of the smallish nature of icons/avatars.

The Union officer in the middle looks sort of like Chamberlain, of Little Roundtop fame (anyone know th tactic he used to defeat the attacking rebels in that battle at Gettysburg? ).

You win! :D

I finally found an avatar I think I can live with. ;)
I was re-reading the 1st German Succession Game last night, and got the idea. Some posters "awarded" us (donsig, Knight-Dragon, Ohwell and myself) the Iron Cross 1st Class for destroying Egypt with our panzers.

Man that was a fun game... :)

Locked yourself in did you TF?;) Thats why you should NEVER make public statements that can be used against you.;)

Well, a BB is a good avatar anyway. There is still nothing like the modern Battleship for power projection, parking a BB offshore, and shelling a city or target at will sends a certain signal to the recipient. No single weapon currently deployed by any nation, short of a nuke, can sink a properly captained Missouri Class BB. Too bad we retired all the BBs. We should make some more. Mabye 80 or 90. Now wait. We name them after states, so let's limit them to 50.

"Let us build a Battleship and blast our enemies."

;)

Excellent. My wisdom and propaganda is spreading. :mwaha:
I, of course, would never make the mistake of calling an IOWA class BB something else. :D
Bring 'em back, modernized.
Or if you want to build new ones, make 'em the BBGNs I outlined previously in off topic.
"BBGN. If you absolutely, positively have to kill every really cool guy in the littoral zones, accept no subsitutes." :D
