President thread- Term 3

no settlers till war is done...just keep on military production..axes. IF I get time i will look at the save with any other info but right now I think its a waiting game. We have to take the attack to them and not sit back at the earliest possible time. This turns where we dont put the pressure on them results in them having a chance to get friends, get their current friends to get troops to them, get troops to us AND/OR allows them to build enough troops to resist our attacks.

I have looked at it...BUT if its still the same we may consider splitting the stacks or maybe landing the 2 axes... 2 tiles BEHIND them(north of them near border or in border)...force them to move.

DONT do anything I suggest until we can see the turn and other chime in.

another idea....
We could have enough to defend in Victory and then leap frog the rest around them using the galleys. IF we cut that road it puts their troops out of action except to attack us at victory and slows their advance. IF we have a spear for each keshick and an ax per 2 archers PLUS another an additional archer, we are covered. Defenders gets the advantage. We could be super careful and make sure we have the same number of units as their stack just in case they get lucky.

the other option is to simply defend Victory and go after IRon city. Draw backs are if another stack walks down while our gallies are up North.

Right now we need some good small scale tactics in the area of victory...

Without looking at the save its hard to tell exactly, but i would focus on just defending Victory.

Check the odds when they are in the open, if they are good attack, if to fall back onto the spices. Their stack isn't to special since there are 2 archers with city defence.

We should continue to press the iron city, that should be our number one goal.

The situations around Victory has not changed. They are still a fair distance from Victory. So I did not put any images up since they were basically the same as the previous. You can see what I did with the end save.

So they did not move their stack 1 southwest? Interesting. I guess that they just want to block us from launching another assault there, but using 2 city garrison one archers :crazyeye:

I had a look at the save. I would push out the units from victory onto the spices next turn and dig in the our stack 2E of victory.

That way it blocks the route to Victory completely and if they do try they have to step out into open and we have our full force to hit them with.

Also they wouldn't see the units on the spices until they move into the open, hopefully their turnplayer would move them as a group:)

Is that the answer you were look for robboo ;)

I will do that when I get the save next. One thing that I am worried about is that they might be able to kill the spear since there is only one there right at the moment. There will be another one built I think it would be good to build another galley to scout the region to the north of us so that no sneak attack can happen. What shall the attack comprise for the attack on the Iron City? I am thinking of two spears and four axes.

There is the 4 axes that were dropped of in victory to go with the spear. You can use one of the galleys as a sentry north of victory for a little while.

Excellent as there are only two more turns until we can get Alpha.

Here is the situation so far.

I moved the units from Victory to the spices outside of Victory. Next turn I will have an extra spear and axe there for protection. We have enough spears for the moment so I started on an axe in Azelatrof. I think there is enough protection near victory for the time being.

Do we need another galley, since we need to have three just for the attack on the iron city.

3 should be enoiugh but a 4th would help. Once the stack near victory is taken out we can use some of those units on the iron city

why isn't fever river working the cows?

Heck, the cows will even give us MORE hammers, even the cottages are better than this hill.

It looks like the city will be unhappy when it grows, but I don't understand why it is starving?

Because there isn't a tile combo that balances the food.
However i do agree with dutch that the 3 gold from the cottage is more useful then 1 hammer from the hill

Can't you just press the avoid growth button, and let it grow when you want it to?

Thats the city governor. It would then set the worked tiles to balance the food but to do so it might stop working the hills we need for production.

It more realiable to manually switch between tiles, in this case the best would be betwen the cows and the village

Working the cows would lead to 1 food extra. We are in a war, so we will want as much production as possible.

The avoid growth button does work, even though if we are still manually switching between tiles. (me thinks, can anyone confirm?)

Also, for BCLGland, whip and/or avoid growth. It is already at its happiness limit.

The reason I changed from the Cow to the hill is that I wanted to make sure that the production of the axe would not be slowed down. Moving from the cow to the hill meant that they city would produce an axe in one turn, instead of two. That is the reason why. I will put the worker back onto the cow next turn, since we can grow slightly more. One thing we need to get out of us researching Machinery is that we trade for calendar, since we will be able more without getting any unhappiness, which is something we want to avoid.
