PreSLNES I: Masters of Ethereal

Awesome update. Didn't check stats.

@LDi: In your orders, you spent all of your available gold. Remember, coffers in the stats is what you have to spend for your orders - I already calculate your income - upkeep and add it to your coffers at the beginning of each turn. So you already spent that 170 gold you mention. You had 187 gold last turn, and you spent it all. So now you have 150 gold in your coffers +your 20 bonus. I hope I'm making sense.

@erez: My mistake. Will correct in a little while.

As for the Wizards who are gone - they are NPCs. That is why I left all of their settlements/Citadels standing. I took the borders out because they are no longer player-Wizards. Consider their growth stagnate.

Check stats now. I saw this coming.

I hate to be cranky, but I'm going to start brutally punishing players who don't give me new, accurate upkeep costs when they buy new units. Add it all up. Maybe attach a stat profile at the bottom of your orders telling me what your new stats will be - and I'll check them from there. Or even just mentioning "Their upkeep will be #" in your orders would be good. That helps a lot. In fact, that is probably most preferable. I think Massive Attack did that in his orders when he purchased new units. He clearly wrote out his current upkeep costs and then said the upkeep from new units will be x#. Not completely necessary if the mod is a god, but since things came up and I didn't get the update in later... if you want the update sooner, do that.

Stats look good. didn't see any mistakes in mine.

Yes I know all that and still don't find 170. I have an issue with the 150 which is stated. How was it computed? I found 157 when I did the math as explained in my postwhich is income of previous turn - upkeep of previous turn). I didn't mention the 187 gold I spent, but solely the income as it was in previous turn update stats (which I copied from my orders since it's no longer in the thread).

OK. So you have 278 per turn from 2 cities, 2 towns - added up.

You spent all of your gold last turn. Thus coffers at the beginning of this turn are 0.

Your upkeep is 128 gold. 278 - 128 = 150. +20 bonus = 170 gold.

Ok got it. I thought the income/upkeep ment was banked at end of the turn and therefore ment what we'd get on the next turn, but it's computed at the beginning of the turn and gives the current gold total, not what'll be available on the next.
Which means any conquest reaps rewards immediately and not with a one turn delay, which makes sense.
Thanks for clarifying.

OK map is updated with minor changes such as Wylias being named (Castle 6) and Tarnum's roads put on the map.

Update is due a week from today (next Friday). Tuesday is bonus day. I am making the time longer because we'll have a new player or two, and also because I updated later.

Was everyone okay with the new update "style"? Maybe you can't even notice it. But towns and mana nodes are no longer included in spoilers, but rather just added automatically to stats (I thought it was a little redundant / unnecessary). In addition, I went with a more story-based narrative, that doesn't include all the little things. I got tired of writing about good roads and improvements to temples, unless they were really specifically and interestingly described in orders - thus I included the Awards section to give those little bonuses, instead of writing redundant words about them. Though I would still mention those things in the update text itself, if they are intricately designed in orders and merited inclusion in the updated text as an important event (which is what I have done - is only include the really important stuff, then streamline the rest).

Dwarves-> Stout Giants
Elves-> Willow Giants, Also called 'Slim'
Humans-> Doublings
Gnoll-> Smart Wolf
Beastmen-> BeastGiant
Halflings-> Kindred

The Stout Giants roam the land
under it as well
The Willow Giants dance in the trees
upon every swell
"The Right Size are we!" the doublings claim
to be their road to fame!
While they stumble and slip
and make each other lame.

The Smart Wolves wander
in their proud camps and packs
The Beast Giants gallop among their herds
But the most fun of all- here are the facts-
We kindreds of Pordos Valley burgs!

(lol, still rebalancing)

Star: Can you go on #NES for 10 min?

Immac: I'm on.

Hey, any volunteers out there to make a pretty archive of all stories/long-form diplomacy that has been posted in the forum thus-far? :) You will get nothing except my undying gratitude. Doesn't have to be organized by player, necessarily - though might be nice. Maybe a chronological order would be more sufficient, because some stories play off of ones that other players posted. But however someone wants to do it... I'd be much obliged.

I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of stories will be posted during this turn. Remember that while stories don't give you some arbitrary direct bonus, they do explain more about your realm or provide insight, which in turn keeps me interested and that is a very good thing. If I have more fluff/info to work off of, then I will have a generally favorable view of your realm as being a living, breathing political entity ruled by a Wizard. We are world-building here, after all.

I am willing to do pages 1-10. Was manager of stories for ImmacNES< but I don't want to do everything by myself if possible.

Estimated finish time: Monday (depending on weekend activities)
