:( This is a distress call :(

I've looked all over the net for something that can help me with this. I've been through the forums twice and google has failed me! (I've also patched up to the latest version).

I'm hoping a kind modder'er person could do this teeny tiny favour for me and enlightenment me with their know-how. I need an option to "Build Nothing".

It's sad... my vast Empire is unmanageable :shifty: and a turn actually does take a year IRL

You'll get one of these ---> :goodjob:
and I'll be doing this! --->

You can simply choose to build military points if you don't have anything you really want to build.

:( Yeah but when I've gotten all the founding leaders/fathers it doesn't let me build any of the points anymore and I have to build either a unit or a building... and there's a limited amount of buildings too

Are you certain? I can build FF points after I have them all.

You can set up a chain of units in the build queue, they'll just keep popping out at whatever interval it takes. If you remove all colonists from carpentry, building will progress far more slowly. Just set each maxed-out colony to build infinite canons, re-allocate all your carpenters to some other profession, and the city should run itself.

Yeah. I'm not using any mods though, is there any mods you guys are using by chance?

I tried downloading "Age of Discovery II" v1.8 to check maybe it'd the solution built in but the zip file was corrupt (and winrar didn't wanna repair it for me) and it's just too big to go too all the trouble of downloading again. (until there's an newer version).

Good plan, although by the time I start a revolution and use "Theocracy", everything is still build fairly fast even without carpenters. I'll have to make do with this in the mean time and just delete those waste units. Thanks Wheldrake.

Is there anyone else who has this problem? or is also frustrated that there's no "build nothing" option? (or is it just me?)

I had this problem once when attempting to win with just one city, but I decided to just pump out cannons. I couldn't exactly move my citizens to another job because every job was full.

You know, you can set your cities to repeatedly build things if you press Ctrl while clicking on it, such as the Cannon or Ship of the Line. It will show up in the build queue with an asterisk, when it finishes, it will start building another one automatically unless you are short on tools or guns needed to build it (in which case it is deleted from the build queue, and if there was nothing else in your build queue, you'll get pestered by the UI for what to build next)

A build wealth option ala Civ4 might be a good idea. Boost your gold supply whilst not generating anything in particular.

Perhaps 1 gold for every 5 hammers? I'd think you'd basically want it to be whatever the cost of selling lumber, plus a little bit...

Has anyone come up with a solution for this? I could work up a small mod that would fix this so that production is sold for gold if any one would like this?
