Preview : Steph's mod 2

El Justo made a new system basing upon the datas of the ships. So for example a ship's HP is based upon the displacement, so 1 HP= 2.500 ts displacement. A speed of 1 tile is equivalent to 4 kn. Armament and armour are the factors for A/D and bombardment. Torpedoes and missiles determine the RoF, especially of smaller ships. So a BB might have a bombardment of 80 but a RoF of only 3 or 4, while a DD might have a RoF of 8 (because of 8 TT) but a bombardment of 25.
This has to be fitted so that earlier ships are able to be introduced.

I'm doing something a bit similar to that, but not so scientific. And I'm not using actual data, but more "gameplay" oriented parameters. i.e. a BB has more firepower and armor than a CA but is slower.

I'll try to post the parameters of the ships this evening or tomorrow
 
Nice to see your doing a lil bit on your mod. it all adds up!. Im plaing your first version again while I wait for more mem this Xmas to play SOE. Your mod moves very fast between turns on a map that 202z202 and 20 CIvs. thats cool I must say. On with the show thanks for not giving up steph. Your a great mod programmer
 
This is something else, I am drowing in top of line units...
 
I will soon (newt week) upload an alpha version of my mod, and I'll need alpha testers.

Status of the mod:
- Base unit lines done, with flavour units, but all the same stats.
- Buildings done
- Civilization done
- Tech trees done.
- Resources done

Missing:
- Civilopedia entries
- Aircraft/ missiles / agents units
- Specific bonuses for specific units
- No wonder yet.
- The unit lines needs to be updated with the new units.

I'll need alpha testers, who can play the game and give feedback on:
- Speed of discovery / development. Is the cost of techs OK?
- Units stats. Before I start adapting the stats to have nation specific stats, I'd like to know if the generic unit lines are OK, if some units are to strong, to weak, useless, etc.

I may make several version of the bic to test the results, with little changes in the graphics, until it runs well enough, to go to stage 2.
