[PREVIEW Thread] LuckNES IV: Generation of Glory

What's the cultural situation in Scandinavia? Are the Danish dominant, or have the Swedish numbers overwhelmed them? Also, what is the situation in the colonies? Are they mainly white, mestizo, mullato, or what? Are the colonists mostly Scandinavian, and from which part of Scandinavia or is it an even mix? How dominant is slavery (this is really applicable to the whole of the American colonies, not just the Scandinavian ones)? What are the names ascribed to the colonies, or do you not have any in particular (that is fine, I can always figure something out)?

EDIT: Sorry for the bombardment of questions, but the united and colonial Scandinavia is very interesting and unique, which greatly increses the number of questions I have.

Swedes and Danes are about equally represented in the colonies with Danes slightly more common in the domestic government due to its location in Copenhagen. The biggest resentment towards the union comes from Norway as Norwegians have relatively little say in either colonial or domestic governance. Unrest in Sweden has declined over the years as Swedes have become as common as Danes in the colonies, and more common in the North American colonies.

Slavery exists but is not so widespread as OTL given the Dutch penchant for using French indentured servants, especially in their Caribbean colonies. (Though slaves are present there, more laborers in sugar plantations are indentured servants [either French or imported from South Asia] than slaves.) Slavery is as prolific in Brazil as OTL and commonplace in Scandinavian South America as well. There are somewhat fewer slaves in Aquitanian holdings in southern North America than OTL owing to less focus on intense agriculture there by the Aquitanians, who have diverse agriculture at home with which their colonial possessions might otherwise compete. Slaves in British Central America are pretty much exclusively of native descent as the native population has not plunged as dramatically as it did under the Spanish OTL.

Racial mixing is rare outside of Brazil, where it is as common as OTL. The largest native populations are outside of European control in Tarasca and Inca, so mestizos are particularly uncommon. British, Aquitanian and Scandinavian colonists tend to bring their families, unlike the Spanish. The Dutch are mostly merchants, so they often don't bring their families, but their colonies in the Caribbean suffered the most from early diseases, and native populations are extremely low there. The influx of French colonists into Dutch colonies has overwhelmed any Dutch mestizo population.

Edit: French means Burgundian; the Burgundian monarchs have begun styling themselves Kings of the French, and they are more French the way we know it than the Occitan Aquitanians.

What is that nation that currently holds Florida? I will take that one then.

I will take the Byzantine nation then if it hasnt been taken.

If it has then the Ottoman Empire.

Thank you Cuivienen. I will begin working on stats later but not so good at making them even with your descriptions. I can figure it out though. I hope.

1750 is the starting year. Anyone wish to help with the stats. As I said they are not my strong point.

I put in a bid for "Russian America Company"

the name.. well, It just fits! a highly organized Commercial colonization program. nice!!! this will be fun.

Azale, I shall never Fail my tribute to you. do you want it to start on the first turn, or the second?

Well, sorry TerrisH but you lost that bid on the first page ;].

Thanks for the info.

hmm, you really need to update the list of nations taken. I can see several nations that were claimed afterwards listed there, but not it.

still, I do see one that is not taken.
claiming Kingdom of Spain

would take Portugal, but gromber took it.

grombar said one of two, and so if he chooses the other, I would like Portugal. Once Grombar gets on I can confirm it.

Portugal looks interesting for me, or the Incan Empire.

tyvm, grom.

I officially lay my claim to Portugal (as stated a few posts ago)

Yah! :) :w00t:

I hereby launch a civil war with Germanicus over the Roman Empire.
