Prince Harry in a Nazi uniform?

He'd have a laugh.

There is nothing more English than having a laugh, even in bad taste.

Indeed. People in comedy have long dressed up in such a way and completely mocked the Nazis and what they stood for. Do you hear this outcry about John Cleese or similar? As much as the argument that people will be upset does hold some water, I think that such people must have not noticed or cared about decades of our comedy and theatre, or just common people doing this same thing. It seems that for some, the figurehead doing the act is more important than the act or it's intention.

When someone puts on a Nazi uniform and wears their swastika, they are sending the message that they support what the Nazis did.
NO THEY ARE NOT.

Poor taste and nothing more - perhaps a wardrobe malfunction.

Personally I am not "outraged or incensed" in the context of the venue this apparel was worn, I can understand how some people might genuinely be. I hear of a number of people getting upset just because they think it is the right thing to do.
Harry is obviously not too bright and despite having had an expensive education and erudite advisors to hand he wore something which would grab the headlines and show him in a bad light. A rebel without a clue perhaps?

I just find it annoying that at a time when a French politician is remarking that Germany's occupation of France was "not especially inhumane" some of the British press are concentrating more on accusing someone of being a Nazi simply for a fancy dress outfit :hmm:
Well, do think Germany's occupation of France in the early '40s was "especially inhumane"? Compared to what the Germans did in, say, Poland, or the Japanese in China, it seems quite humane indeed to me ...

I heard a quote on the radio (may have been made up as a joke) that he thought the swastika was a communist windmill symbol.

I think even Harry is not that dumb...... but who knows? :)

Compared to what they did in Poland nearly anything would look better. That does not mean what they did in France was humane in the slightest. Le Pen has a history of such stupid comments though to be honest. Point being that there's much more important things to concentrate on. There's real holocaust deniers and revisionists out there, real neo-nazi groups around. I find it distasteful that our press thinks it's more important what the prince's dress sense is than going after the real problem, and just as distasteful that people would be mad enough to buy a rag like the Sun because of the story.

Another royal mistake what can i say

surely it is time now or in the future to get rid of the royal family with mistake after mistake that happens to them

He should have dressed like an official of the Congo Free State and no-one would have lifted an eyebrow.

Bright day
Unfortunately people are like that.

yes, thats what he said :confused:

btw, prince charles has ordered him to visit auschwitz to learn about the holocaust :goodjob:

I still think Harry knew what he did.

We can do a Freudian analysis, or make a conspiracy theory of it. Perhaps he had a good reason to do so. I think he just wanted to make sure that his father never sends him to Sandhurst. :)

I'd rather see him have to go through the ranks myself :mischief:

Yes I had heard someone say he acted like a ranker. ;)

@Timko & Norseone
Perhaps, if either of you were Jewish you would feel differently.

@rilnator
You should know that anything Nazi strikes a certain cord among the Jewish community. Sure Stalin was just as bad, but he didn't go out of his way to target a particular ethnicity. Same goes for the other dictators you mentioned, evil men to be sure, but they don't evoke the same feelings.

EDIT: Charles has ordered that Harry attend the delegation to Auschwitz. It's not enough, but definitely a step in the right direction.

It's pathetic is what it is that we should make him do anything.

If he had dress like a dragoon, would it have been better? i dont think so....
