Problem with certain options

I had this problem when playing RoM:AND on a one city challenge, being relatively bad at civ i started with noble difficulty and i unchecked the increasing difficulty option before starting the custom game but somehow the difficulty is still increasing in game and at the end of it i ended up playing in deity .

Flexible Difficulty is enabled by default, and it is in the BUG settings page. (The ladybug icon). There are a lot of customizable settings there, don't be afraid to try new ones.

Doesnt unchecking it in the options screen in MP mode disable it?
