Hallo all

Iam having a bit of trouble with my Civ experience.

I installed the game a couple of days ago, updated it and played for 2 days. Then my Windows decided to install some new updates and everything just went to hell.

Whenever I play the game, within 2minuts of playing, the screen will start flashing, sudden go black and jump back to the desktop.

And I even got a BSOD once,

I have tried every graphics setting and update every driver I got..

My stats are

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Porcessors 6400+
4GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512mb
Windows 7 Ultimate
Civilization 4 Complete Version 3.19

PLEASE HELP ME! Iam desperate!

did you reinstall your graphics driver since it crashed?
if not:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_196.21_whql.html

the fact that multiple games do the same thing does hint at a problem with the machine - and likely its some driver issue. I would uninstall the current graphics driver and then reinstall the above linked one.

I all ready tried that. The game worked perfect a couple of days ago, but after an update for Win7, the trouble started.

Already tried reinstalling the drivers, but no dice..

Nopes..thats the worst thing about it. It just starts flashing and then suddenly stops working..

Sounds like an overheating issue. Make sure that when playing civ your CPU and especially your GPU temperatures are nominal. CPU should not be above 75C and GPU above 90C.

Yeah, there is just one problem with overheating problem. The game has worked on Win7 before, but suddenly stopped..
