Well, read as Quenya without the accent it should still be kooy-VIH-en-en (that 'ih' is supposed to be a short i sound like in "trick"). There's, BTW, certainly plenty of Quenya words which contains diphthongs without containing any diacritics, eg auta "pass" (from Fingon's cry at the Nirnaeth).

"Diphthong" is preferably not used as a verb in English. There is the verb "diphthongize" = "turn into a diphthong".

(Technically, the dots (tremas) over certain Quenya vowels are not umlauts, but diaereses.)
