While it is the "Melbourne Cricket Ground" its used a lot more (and almost associated more with) as a footy ground. After all, the cricket season only goes from, what, December to February? While the AFL season goes from late March to the end of September, during which the MCG gets a fairly heavy amount of usage and of course, hosts the Grand Final.
Cricket is a actually a good reason to stand around and consume alcohol and I have had fun doing that, even as an American (in UK and South Africa, but not in New Auszeland). As to attention spans, what were we talking about again?

Well cricket's alright I suppose, though I'd never watch a full match since it goes for hours. Perhaps I share something in common with the Americans...
I think a big sports game would be a good wonder. But the World Cup would probably be better than the Super Bowl. Instead of adding happiness, it allows you to build Hooligans, who can start riots in your opponent's cities with colluseums.
