When I check what they say against the Bible, there are no discrepancies.

If I take the bible and conclude that there is no god and still agree with it is that still acceptable?

Depends, can you repeat that in English so I know what it means first?

Oh, come on! All what the others say for the Bible are the same? Everyone has he's own opinion, you know, even among the non-believers.

Sure,

If I take the bible and conclude that there is no god and still agree with it is that still acceptable?

Ok, the words are English, and the syntax is baguely sentence-like, but the combination of words makes no sense.

If I take the bible and conclude that there is no god and still agree with it is that still acceptable?
The italicized portion contradicts the first part, making the third part void.

How ... what ... ?!?

*Draws a big dot in the dirt, with nine concentric circles around it. On each of the circles is a smaller dot. Points to third ring's dot, then to self. Points to center dot, then to sun. Looks expectantly at Perfection.*

*puts ninth ring and dot back, draws dotted line from 8th ring.*

*looks puzzled*

*draws a dot, a line, a square, and a 2-d representative of a cube, then uses toothpicks and peas to make a 3-d model of a tesseract. Points from self to cube, to Perfection and tesseract, and lifts eyebrow*

Okay enough with the cute analogies (btw. I erased it because Pluto ain't a planet).

I claim that I can interpret any section of the bible so that it fits completly within my athiestic evolutionist viewpoint!

If people really study the bible and then conclude it was divinely inspired, I seriously have doubts about these people's ability to analyse written texts.

It exactly looks like it was written without any divine influence. Open up your eyes and see!

Same planet, different universes. I propose we agree to disagree. Your perception of reality is radically skewed from mine.

I don't agree to disagree, You will be assimilated :borg::p

I agree to disagree , I dont agree to disagree, no sir, after you, darling could you please pass me the salt....Bah!
this thread is becoming too effeminate for my taste.

PROOF-ism sucks OPINION-ism rules.GOD DOES NOT EXIST and that is final...
on the other hand...

I've read the bible.
If you are telling the truth then even as an unbeliever you should be able to tell when someone is taking verses out of context. You don't have to be an Bible expert to spot people badly misquoting scriptures or leaving out scriptures they don't like.Even as a teen I had very little knowledge of the bible yet I could easily spot someone misquoting scriptures for their own personal use. It the same with money , you don't have to know how to run a bank to know you don't trust some people when it comes to money.

I completely agree with you, Smidlee, I too hate it when people take verses in the Bible out of context. Especially when they say such misquoted things like "God created the earth" or "Jesus was the son of god". The Bible obviously does not want people to take such ludicrous concepts literally.

I just don't know. To be able to understand if someone taking verses out of Bible's context, one should interpret the Bible the way he wants to.

Come again? How could you know that, since you had "very little knowledge of the bible"? You misjudge people without having been informed at first? OR, God blessed you with a "insight" power to "read" other people's minds? - Even Nostradamus couldn't do that!(btw: do you "recognize" him as a prophet?)

@Pointlessness: :lol:

OT: sometimes I wonder, how the believers actually feel with so many non-believers around them  (come on, say it! Apocalypse anyone?).
