PW-02 Zombie Nation

I played until turn 325. We popped a merchant and I took him to found Sid's Sushi in Madrid. Seemed appropriate. Near the end I revolted Universal Suffrage so that we can rush buy the Wall Street in Madrid and rush buy the infrastructure needed to go to space. Right now production is not so good. We also don't have State Property yet.

This is troublesome:

We built Broadway.

We need to get rid of Hatty at some point, I tried to extort her clam to get her to denounce us but it didn't work as she just gave it to us. We could try cancelling that deal and trying again, I've had vassals break free before.

Boudica came to us with a nice suggestion:

In the end I brokered deals that secured us lots of seafood.

Plenty of gold but a poor production...

It can be a small problem while going for space.
Is there a way we can make Cathy DoW Boudica (stupid question - I suppose it ain't any), just to slow her down enough and manage us a nice strike ahead in techs ?

Does Cathy have Tanks already ?
Is war a viable enough option ?
Methinks, one of our best options is to get Boudica DoW us and break the DP between us. The same way, it would put Cathy in war with Boudica.

Darth Meanie, you're up.

I doubt that Boudi is stupid enough to DoW us, but...... we have sushi now ,so the border pressure will increase a lot. maybe with some more stupid requests we can make her [pissed] enough to declare

The AP DP is becaming a increasingly bigger gridlock.... can we try to overrrun AP leader and nullify this? or declare war on the infidel?

I think revolting out of representation is a mistake.
Rushbuy is not that useful, and we loose many free beakers,
especailly that we have sushi now, which basically means lots of free speacialists.
Also we don't have many towns to benefit from that +1 hammer.

I wouldn't bother building broadway either. I'd rather have ~15 tanks instead, but it's ok if we're going for space.
1 extra happy will be useful and we can trade it for other resources too.

I'd still like to go for domination, we missed opportunity to attack the ladies with tanks, let's beeline to modern armor while producing takns, and then mass upgrade them to MA.

Do you think tanks opportunity is already missed ?

I agree with 15 tanks option rather than Broadway. I'd like to play it late domination, though I'd rather have Boudica DoW us then face both missies.

If you want it, nothing is impossible :D
Can't check the save though - next time I'll wait and check before speaking

Regardless of what we'd like to do, I don't think we have enough production or happiness to go for a full-blown war. What we do have is gold. So I propose we use the gold to rush buy factories and coal plants everywhere, never mind the :yuck:, then use Sushi to keep the cities fed.

:goodjob: I'm with you

DM seems to be MIA.

Betruger or r_rolo1, can you take it for the next 10 ?

Who's taking the next one ?
Another 24h passed and no news.

Game-wise, do we have enough prod to go for space?

OK, I'll take it. Seems it got back to me really fast, I wasn't expecting this :)
Will play tommorow afternoon

Two skips made it go faster than forecasted...
:)

1. pawelo
2. r_rolo1 - on deck ?
3. azaris - just played
4. Darth Meanie - skipped due to finals
5. Betruger - UP
6. TheLastOne36

Another uneventful turnset.

Cathy managed to build pentagon 3 turns before us.
I used the rushbuy option to get some infrastructure. Since we had to stay in Universal Sufferage for 4 more turns we might just as well make a use of it.

At turn 5 I revolted back to Representation because I still feel this is without question the strongest option for us, given the amount of food we have.
Sushi gives us 12 food per turn, so ideally, without health concerns that equals 6 free specialists per city.
In worst scenario, when city is already at health cap, it still gives 3 free specialists.

I also revolted out of mercantilism, because that +1 free specialist bonus became really minimal now, and besides Cathy and Boudica revolted out of mercantilism as well, which means lucrative trade routes.
I had a hard time choosing between free market and enviromentalism, but ultimately went for free market, due to 1 additional route per city and decreased corporation costs.

All in all, adopting those civics change income from about 1000 beakers 0gpt, to 1300 beakers 0gpt.

In other news we got a great engineer, and I used him to get creative constructions in Madrid. (We could theoretically use him for space elevator but it'd be a long time before we'll be able to build that. Anyway it is science, not production, that is the limiting factor when going for space).

The save:

This game is already in the bag. There's no way we could possibly loose it now, which makes playing a bit mundane to be honest.

Still, have fun with it, whoever it is who plays after me :)

Thanks Betruger! :goodjob: for the civics switch decisions.

Can you make it after DM VII tonight r_rolo1?

I would still like to go until the end - just to have the Zombie Toku reach the stars, still if the group preferes to vote it impossible to lose, I'll go along :)

And start a next PW game soon... :D

Let's put the guy in the sky..... the world will be a better place without him

I'll see if I can play today... I suggest that we start to take bigger turnsets unless one of the ladies goes berserk. Maybe 20 turns?

Good point r_rolo1.
Starting now, we go for 20 in peace-time.
Don't forget to protect our border, just to match their powergraph ;)
