[PYTHONCOM] MAD Nukes Mod

Hello,
sorry for my bad English. I have no problems in understanding. But writing and talking is another thing.

I have the following problem:
1) I nuke a city of another civ. => The city is destroyed and a watertile. End Turn.
2) The enemy starts his ICBM and destroys one of my cities. :mad:
3) My Strategic Air Command answers with all my ICBMs that were pretargeted on his cities. All my nukes were exploding over his cities.
4) Nothing happens. There is no damage on his cities. :eek:

No auto-fired ICBMs causes any damage. All standard fired ICBMs destroy their target. :confused:

I use the mod v0.3.2w
 
Do you have a saved game prior to this point CobraTR that I can look at?
 
Of course the next twist is to add Cold War Detente to keep a 2nd place AI from spoiling a perfectly good game by forcing MAD.

Updated Warlords version to be compatible with the v2.0.8.0 patch.
 
Well, after getting things to work. I set up a little nuclear testing ground map.

After sending off some nukes that does what i told them to do. :nuke: :crazyeye:
I get a response.... (with the same devastating effect)
MAD reacts and sends out the pretargeted nukes, atleast thats what the text says.

But somhow they dont really go off, no damage, no fallout, no nothing, no damage to any units. Infact... they must be hijacked by aliens in space or something.. Because they are not in my citys no more..

using a clean install of Warlords 2.08 and Mad 0.4

So whats up here??

Can you post the saved game file right before this happened and the steps to repeat the bug?

Its done...

I have 1 suggestion for this nice mod.

Add this option in the INI file

city_max_size_to_destroy=xx

Then we can set the maximum size a city has to be before its completely destroyed. Sometimes its nice to just nuke them back to the stoneage, and still be able to capture the towns. And still be able to wipe some out.

This would fix that and all the whining about the mod beeing to powerfull. Much more customizable this way.

hope you consider to add this function.

Also if anyone knows any terraforming stuff that can be used with this mod to combat global warming. Please let me know :D
Or maby TheLopez would be so nice to include some terraforming unit.

Its a bit contradictionary to use nukes to terrafrom global warming desert back to grassland ;)

But are the diplomatic penalties high enough ?
I think they should be slightly higher.... Like other civs would stop trading with you or something like that. You should two times reconsider launching a nuclear war....

Actually, I don't know how this happened, but I have turned on destroying cities completely, however, I need to launch 2-3 nukes on city with 25pop.

Well, you can change the diplomatic through the
GlobalDefines.xml file I think.

I have the same problem.Why happened this??does have problem the MOD??

Sorry to bump this, but are there any plans for a BTS version of this mod?

edit: holy crap, I am ******** - not even on a different page. Terribly sorry.
 
hey um i was just wondering but um is this compatible with BtS and if not could you make one that is? please
 
Is there a bts version thats not combined into anything else so that i can just add it into a mod?
 
Sorry guys,

no standalone but CCV 4.x includes a rework of M.A.D. Nukes! If you disable all other optional stuff CCV is almost BTS. Just some minor changes like my axe and fire mod (burn down with agriculture and no :hammers: bonus or chop trees with iron working or replaceable parts and :hammers: bonus) will stay active. Maybe have a look... :)
