Question for Europeans

About the only thing of substance here is that you seem to be digging up threads all over the place, trying to reach 300 posts. I'll give you credit for not making spam posts, though. Each one is a rather verbose swipe at the United States. Ah well, maybe you'll relax after another 30 or so posts.

Everybody knows that US entered in the world wars to gain spoils, not to save the europeans...
And for me, the jealously point is exactly the opposite. North-Americans are unpolite, arrogant, ignorant, don't give a damn about the world's situation. Most europeans are very polite, and know most news and information from all around the world.
And what makes me very sad is to see that the great Europe has turned into US puppy, doing everything it wants.

Why cant you just be a good boy and die...

I suppose that Pearl Harbor was just an unfortunate incident then, right? The invasion of the Phillipines? How about the fact that Hitler declared war on the U.S.?

Oh, Mickey, what a pity, you don't understand...

Absolutely untrue. Consider the geopolitical stances that (West) European nations have taken versus the United States in the past twenty years, and you'll see that the U.S. and Europeans have very little in terms of common policies.

it's not just europeans hating U.S., btw..

i know koreans hate u.s., and that's because the u.s. army in korea has done many terrible things in the 50 years, killing civilians fleeing south just because they came too close to the army back during the war, dumping toxic waste in rivers, running over people with armoured vehicles, and the soldiers being jackasses, and much more

Europeans supporting the U.S  may i mention france, germany, spain etc.........

You are thinking of Britain (not europe) you pay us an insult by including us in Europe :p

Tony blair is George Bush's lap dog

We don't hate US

Nowdays we have different political point of views.

But the whole point isn't only political.
I could say in one phrase that "We are dismissive of US culture", to speak in civ3 terms :)
This include many things (death penalty, licence to carry firearms, dress sense, architectural taste, sports taste, (american) kitsch taste, etc.)

I don't think so...
Being pals with the USA carries many advantages.
Blair will look to secure the benefits of US investment in the UK.

I am not complaining...
Bush also needs Blair to help him make proper speeches! ;)

Also, we in the UK are a terror target anyway...with the US as an ally or not.

As far as the terrorists are concerned all Europeans are "white devils"...

I take it that, following your definition, you are not European, then?

The British, apparently get oil rights(or something else to do with the oil) and American investment. I think I read that in the Observer.

The Observer? Oh good, a balanced and unbiased source. :p

Exactly. That's the main reason I think he is weak and I want him out of Downing Street.

"Americans en Amerique"!

I am no supporter of Blair but I wouldn't call him weak. Considering the current feeling in Britain towards Bush I think Blair standing by him (I won't use the phase 'shoulder to shoulder') is a sign of great strength. Also he ain't going to be leaving Downing Street any time soon and anyway the "offical" opposition are just as pro-American as he is.

I recognise that about the opposition :(

Just hope to see emerging a pro-European soon.
You have to enter Euro and leave that isolationism tactic that is only harming your economy and also EU...

But thinking by US head, following EVERYTIME is not a sign of strengh, is a sign of strengh towards our own nationals, but weakness in International metters! Everyone thinks Blair is Bush's puppet, and I think it is easy to see why...

1. Indeed

2. Why and how?

3. I disagree. I am proud to say that America and Britain stand together as one of the strongest, and arguably the most important, alliances in the world. I am extremely proud that Blair, a man with whom I disagree profoundly on many issues, is strong enough to stand up to the idiots in his party and many across Europe, and do what he believes to be right with President Bush. Sorry, but in my book Washington is worth much more than Paris, and is far more often RIGHT. :yeah:

The pound will not be given up soon, and the 'analysis' of the long term 'special relationship' between the US and Great Britain by the idealist from Portugal leaves much to be desired.

Blair the lap dog of Bush? He had a much closer relationship with Bill Clinton, yet I do not recall any talk of lapdog status then...
Is Tony nothing but a closet Texan Republican?
It is oafish to go on with that hackneyed little piece of idiocy.

Pillager, you'll give up Pound, I'll assure you. The sooner, the better!

Alliance?!? They decide, you obbay: That's not an alliance, one thinks...

1. Assure away. I'm pleased the Euro, and the Growth and Stability Pact are helping you all so much down there. How is the economy in Portugal, BTW? How are the massive crippling strikes? :p

2. Rubbish. :p I'll put it down to jealousy, as exists in France. Far fewer listen to them, and they don't like it.

There was talk.

:goodjob: Pillager and I don't agree on much but on this I agree 100%.
Just hope to see emerging a pro-European soon.
Enter the Liberal Democrats.

We wouldn't want to hurt the EU now would we. And unless my memory fails me but didn't you Europeans encourage our isolationism? I recall a certain Charles De Gaulle saying we weren't European enough.
Everyone thinks Blair is Bush's puppet
I don't think most Americans think that.

And British doesn't follow America on everything. I can think of the steel tariff and the ICC off the top of my head. Also don't the rest of the EU simply follow France and Germany? Why is no one complaining about them being puppets?
