1. How can I count the number of turns my civilization have to spend in anarchy if I'm not religious ?

2. Does the anarchy time increases with the second and so on government change ?

1 - Go to your F1 screen, and click on the text box next to the advisor. Eventually, she'll tell you.

2 - No, it does not. But it is based on size of empire and how much pop you have. So it does appear to be more the second time around, when in actuality there are other factors dictating that.

I'm having problems with my diplomatic advisor screen. The Greeks are not displayed at all (even though there are two empty spots in the circle). I have had contact with them for about a thousand years now, but I can't talk to them unless they iniate. The Japanese show up as a green oval, not as Tokugawa's leaderhead. Also, if I try the shift-right-click thing, all it does is move the green oval (between the two open slots). Is this just a bug in the programming, or am I missing something here?

You can change the title of your thread during the first 300 minutes (5 hours) of the thread's "life". After that, you need to ask a moderator to change it for you. :)

:hmm:
So if you shift-right-clicked an empty slot,
you did not get a menue choice with (at least) both Greeks and Japanese?

Also, have you tried to talk to the Greeks by using (on main map view) shift-d or right-clicking a unit of them (if in visibility range, that is)?

I've read about buggy foreign advisor on the fora. But IIRC, it was "just" that the English showed up twice on F4.
:crazyeye:

Turner_727: thanks, I'll try that.

Sparrow3: Yes, Dinosaurs inhabited the world prior to chickens and they did spawned from eggs too, but the nature of this question lies deep in phylosophical knowledge and can't be aswered this way :)

Hmm, all he's done is change the question to "Which came first, the dinosaur or the egg?" :).

Alas, all that happens is the green oval moves; no menu appears.

They are on the extreme other side of the world, and I rarely have them in visibility range, but I could definitely try this (just park a galley offshore)

Instead of moving a galley far away,
hit shift-d or click the very tiny "D" next to the info box to talk to them.

edit: for the slots: maybe caps-lock or sth is on (not sure if that has any effect).

What is "sth"?

Just wondering, as im ok (for a 12 year old anyway) at civ3 and a newbieto the multiplayer world of gaming, is PTW really worth buying at the moment, or should i hone my skills in the single player game for a while before going into the online fray? Any help would be appreciated. thx.

Besides, the question isnt 'Which came first the (put animal here) or the egg'. It is 'Did the adult (put animal here) mistreat the baby (put animal here) and if so, is the baby (put animal here) entitled to compensation?

That's a tough one. Conquests has multiplayer support. So if you can wait until Halloween, I'd say wait and get the XP. But if you really wanna jump online now, then go ahead and get PTW now and get your feet wet. Is it worth it? Yeah. I would say go out and get it if C3C wasn't coming out in three months. So the question really is "Can I wait three months for MP", not "Should I buy PTW."

Welcome to CFC [party]

PTW has a variety of bug fixes and additional features, that are worth having even if you never play multiplayer (most PTW owners probably don't). So I'd definitely recommend it. But if you're on a tight budget, you could wait a few months and buy Conquests, which may include most of the PTW features (it's not entirely clear yet, to me anyway).

I have a questions regarding nuclear subs and tactical nukes. I'm planning to use nukes on enemy naval units and not to strike anything on the ground.

So,
1. Does the my reputation in the world suffer for 16 points anyway when using tactical nuke ?

2. Will the tactical nuke destroy Carrier with air units onboard guarded by BattleShip or two entirely in one hit or it will leave some units with some hitpoints remained ?

3. What will happen if the nuke strikes enemy u-boat that is not seen to me and has own nuke also ?

Re: Should you hone your skills on single player for a while before trying multiplay.

Answer: If you want to try multiplayer, go ahead! Honing your skills at single player won't make much, if any, difference, as playing against real human players is much different and more challenging. You can be a great single player civver and get your butt kicked in multiplayer.

Turner -

I tried putting the playintro=0 switch in a civ3.ini file, and it didn't work. Is there some special file name needed for PTW or some special place you have to put it?
