People say you need to build 5 SAM's for Strategic Missle Defense, what are the SAM's and what do they stand for?

What tech would be left to get anyway? Furure techs,so what.
I had Synthetic Fibers, Stealth Tech, Ironclads & Amphibious Warfare left.
(it was a peacefull, all the way, beta-test)
The integrated defence got researched and i wanted to research Synth. next. So i clicked on it and "Our scientists have discovered ...". And i was left "WTH?".

Spoiler :
Ok, so one thing did happen between those 2 things. The map got explored because i put the "Reveal Map" tag there instead of at the Satelites

Surface to Air Missile. They are missiles that are intended to shot down planes from ground batteries.

It was rhetorical, but I must say that is probably the first time anyone had SDI tech, before MA's.

What's MA ? :hmm: Marines ?

Do wonders built by the AI still generate culture every turn for the AI after I capture them? This doesn't seem to make much sense to me, but I have an AI down to one city and they're getting about 100 culture per turn. That city only has the Pyramids and no other wonders, so I don't think that can really add up.

Or I could have found a bug in MapStat...

After placing a spy has failed how many turns should we wait until trying again?

If you try immediately, it sometimes works again. But after that turn, you should wait three or four turns. Someone figured it out once, but I couldn't tell ya what to search for.

Plant Spy
Regular spy 50%
Veteran spy 60%
If a spy plant fails you will get a flag saying so. You can't plant a spy when flagged. There is a chance of 1/3 for the flag to disappear each turn. Failing other spy missions, does not trigger the flag. You can plant a spy the same turn your spy has been exposed by a failed mission.

I've always thought nukes were destroyed when you take that city. Been a while tho since I let the AI have nukes.

Is it possible to destroy nukes without capturing them? :nuke: I know you can't nuke nukes :(

No, they cannot be destroyed by nukes or bombs, you must capture the town.

When I play on a huge map, the tech rate seems to go way faster, I thought it might be the thing in the editor called Tech Rate(?) its set to 160(?).

In the world sizes.

I was playing a Huge size world map and the AI + me got to the middle ages in 690 BC...:p

that is why I was curious...it seemed odd...:crazyeye:

Are you playing with Accelerated Production? I think that causes techs to come earlier too.

Also keep in mind, with more AI, tech research is going to go faster via trading. Which is part of the reason why techs cost more on larger maps.
