Ships cannot create MGLs.

If you cancel a RoP peacefully after the 20 turn agreement has expired, you don't suffer a reputation hit. If you cancel it before the 20 turns is up, you will.

Can anyone tell me whether the 'disease' tab in the editor affects units as well as cities?

I'm trying to represent wear & tear on naval vessels so that they return to harbour after a while, and would like to use the 'disease' tab to do it (if it works!).

Many thanks.

Yes, the disease tab can kill units - is that what you are asking?

That's pretty much what I'm asking. Does it kill units outright or does it take one HP off them?

Thanks.

Great, thanks for the information everyone.

I was hoping to use the 'disease' feature to represent 'wear and tear' on military units. Actual death is probably overkill for what I want.

I can use it with a very low probability for oceans to represent storms, though.

If I had my instruction book with me I could consult it. But I don't so I got a real newbie question:

There are three types of nukes it seems. Icbm, tactial nuke and crusie missle. Which is fired from one of your citys on an emeny city with infinite range? Which is carryed by the nuke sub and how is the nuke sub used? And how is the last one fired and with what range?

@Drool4Res-Pect

Im not sure about tactical nuke, but Cruise Missle has some long range, and ICBM has infinite. :)

Cruies missiles aren't nukes :)

ICBM's have infinite range, and Tactical nukes can be loaded onto Nuclear submarines.

All of them are fired by bombarding (pressing B).

@pentium, i didnt mean nukes. ;)

@drool4res-pect, well, you press "b", and you shoot them at a AI unit(recommended) or improvent.

if you choose the unit attack, it will do a 16attack bombard on a unit, and it inlcudes lethal bombardment, which means it will kill the unit, if it past-redlines it. At a improvvement, it just destroys it.

About 8 years ago I played a version of civilization that was a whole lot better then the version of civ3 that I have now. I don't remember what the game was called, I think it was civ. You could build farms on the water, and a water colony and the Palace upgrade area was a town. Does anyone remeber this game. I remeber it and I want to get it but I don't remeber what it wsa called.

You could also build space colonys

Sounds like one of the Civ II versions. They could probably tell you down in the Civ II forums.

Never played SMAC, but it sorta sounds like it.

How do I install a scenario after I have downloaded and unzipped it?

I am playing C3 v. 1.29

I am an Ultima fan. I've downloaded and unzipped The Ultimate Ultima X Scenario. From there I copied and pasted the file into the Scenario folder. Alack, when I start the game and check my scenarios, the file is not listed. Clearly I am doing something wrong, yes?

Solutions would be most appreciated.

Thank you,
me2

You should have a map file, a .bic along with the folders in the download. Put the folder and the .bic in the Scenarios folder (do NOT put the .bic in the folder for the scenario). Then, when you load the game, select "Scenarios" (I think that's the name) and select the Ultimate Ultima X Scenario.

I have been coming here to find new strategies, but I just signed up... anyways, I've been trying new things for a few weeks now, and I'm currently using Japan in a small map with 8 players. The only way to win is Culturally. Being Miliataristic, I took it upon me to whittle down Persia, Russia, and China, eventually defeating China, and I had a thought: What if I Conquest the world? Would I be alone and trying to achieve 20K before 2050? (Useless info: I love seeing my civ's color in huge quantities on the minimap)
