You must first form an embassy with the civ you want to form the MPP with, then go to diplomacy with them and the MPP will be on the trade options
I don't understand. What do you mean, your advancements stop?AnubisII said:Once I trade a tech, why do my advancements in that area stop?
In MP, each player is similar to the AI, from the other players' perspectives. That is, you will be able to see his territory as youdiscover it, and vice versa. As far as whether his civ is playabvle if he is offline, I *think* there are options to let the AI take over civs of people who drop, but I could be mistaken. (I don't play MP.) I'll let an true MPer answer that.AnubisII said:And how do multi-player games work? Can I see a friend's civilization on my map? Is his Civilization still going to be active and visible if he's not currently on-line?
And how do expansion packs change the game?Padma said:I don't understand. What do you mean, your advancements stop?Like if I trade Ceremonial Burial, why don't I learn Mysticism? (Not sure it that's spelled right).

Well, you'll only learn Mysticism if you research it, or receive it in trade for something. If the Civ you trade CB to doesn't know Mysticism, how can they teach it to you?Like if I trade Ceremonial Burial, why don't I learn Mysticism? (Not sure it that's spelled right).
The full answer to this is ver long. Put simply, they add new Civilizations, new Buildings/Wonders, and fix bugs (hopefully). COnquests also added new Civ traits, and shuffled the existing traits a bit. It also changed several Tech-Tree things, and much, much more. PTW is really Civ3-expanded. Conquests is Civ3/PTW-expanded and modified. And how do expansion packs change the game?
I think that that *might* work. AT least in theory. Civ only looks for the CD at game start. But as I said before, I'm not an MPer, so MP questions can slip me up.Can two people play together on-line, if they used only one CD-Rom to install the game. Meaning the same CD was used for both people, to install the game on both PC's. For both the original game, and the expansion (Civilization 3:Conquests, in this case). Could this work?

AnubisII said:I need help!! I need to form alliances quickly!!
The entire world just declared war on me for no reason. First England declares war on me. Then Egypt (who I supposedly had good relations with), allied with them. Then I try to talk to Greece, but it says they are annoyed with me too. Shortly after, they declare war on me too. Then an Indian ship comes into my territory. This is my first contact with the Indians, and it says they are annoyed with me too. What's up with that? Would an alliance even help me (since I went back to the save file, before they all declared war on me), or would my "allies" just break any mutual protection pact anyway?
I have Iron in my Strategic Resource box, but I can't seem to make any Swordsmen. Why is this? I have Pikemen.Turner said:The city trying to build Swordsmen needs to have Iron in it's Strategic Resource box. This is the box on the upper left hand side. If it's not there, it can't build them.
Make sure you have a road connected to the iron from a city, and that city is connected to the other cities by harbors, airports, or roads.
And, of course, you need the required advance.
Since you mention Legionaries, I assume you're the Roman civilization. Romans don't build Swordsmen, they build Legionaries.........which are stronger (in defense) than Swordsmen but have the same attack value.
