Stupid ?
What do you do to stop the stall after the first city and others are built waiting for a worker

Could you rephrase that? If you're asking how to build a worker without stalling growth . . . play Civs1-3.

Post a reply, "go advanced" (look for that button)
once you get into the actual replay area, look down.

Just below is a button called "manage attachments".

It opens a pop-up to upload files.
If it doesn't like your files, zip them first.
(Winzip.com)
The files are attached to your post.

Is there a way to abandon a city in Civ4, besides razing it when you first conquer it? Also, does razing a city affect your relations with any civ besides the victim?

Sounds pretty strange. Is it really 'sudden' as in it happens over just one turn or is it over a few turns?

I don't know how to post it. Maybe you could just write in more detail about the city, what it has in it, what it has nearby it and what exactly happens.

The only other known way is to gift the city to an enemy and than attack it and raze her.

ok. And is it worth doing? Seems like it would be less satisfying to win 'jointly'
Not when it's the two of you vs 5 when the only victory condition is conquest!:nuke:

Is reputation a factor in Civ4? Each civ obviously remembers how you treat them and their friends, but would razing a Greek city affect my relations with anyone else that's not a Greek ally?

Also, are all culture producing buildings destroyed when a city is captured? Is there any kind of age bonus to culture production as in C3Conquests?

Razing a Greek city probably won't affect you're relations with other civs unless it was the holy city of their religion. They will however remember things like you declaring war on their allies even if you don't attack them.

All culture producing buildings are rdestroyed when a city is captured except world wonders, which survive and give their benefits, but will no longer produce culture. As in Civ 3 anything that produces culture will produce twice as much after it has stood for 1000 years.

Civ 4 hasn't been released on DVD. If you have an illegal copy, you can't exactly complain if it doesn't work.
I bought it perfectly legal and payed a fortune for it!
What do you mean, there were even threads about something like: in Europe the game is on DVD, in USA on CD.

my city when it goes down to level 1 the expansiob bar above what u are a making does not increase. and it happends and does not change.

New player here - so please bear with me...

Say I have a brand new unit such as a Camel Archer who has a STR of 10.

Often, when I initially engage an enemy unit with my Camel Archer (who has yet to see combat btw), his STR will read 0.0/10 in the lower left corner of the screen, instead of 10/10. Thus, the enemy unit makes quick work of him.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Are England and Germany actually the only civs in the game that both have exactly the same color?

I've only played a few games, but it seems like all the other civs have slightly varied colors (like light and dark green), while England and Germany are actually both white.

And if this is the case...why would they do that?

P.S. You need a forum search function.

I think it's because the strength level index of both the units actually changes before the battle is over, so if you're going to lose the battle, your strength shows as 0 right from the start because the computer knows you're going to lose.

On my computer, Germany and England do have a slightly different shade. They are very similar. Sometimes I need to look twice, but Germany is a bit darker on my screen though.

Thanks for the reply, perhaps that is it, but it seems to often happen when I have a much stronger unit vs my enemy. perhaps you are correct though.

But you have noticed the same thing regarding unit STR? Was not sure if I was bugged, crazy, or simply missing some aspect of combat...

I haven't payed attention to it myself, but i saw something similar in another thread about how you can tell who will win a battle right from the start by checking the unit stats, so i assume that's it.

About the colors: I found the Germans were a bit darker colored in the graphs for score, power and culture, but that the units, cities and the names in the score list in the bottom right corner were equally white for both Germany and England.
