Maybe Skynet is just a corrupted version of Civilisation III?

I have noticed that the AI is more likely to raze cities lately. Just found it interesting.

I've noticed they do this more at the end of a game.

I think it's got something to do with corruption and/or one or two berserk AIs going Fascist.

You don't "abandon" it when you conquer it, though, you raze it. Razing a city leads to other civs liking you less, which I'm trying to avoid. From another thread, apparently the change in attitude is permanent for every city razed.

This brings up another point. I think I incurred the attitude hit by abandoning it in the way that Lord Emsworth suggested. Hmmm...
Try gifting the city to someone far, far away. Gives you a rep bump, then it'll flip, or maybe the guy you took it from will take it back, either way, its an attitude "hit" on the enemy, with an increase in global chaos. It also sends back your (badly wounded or bombard) units from the front lines to your cap for free, which is occasionally useful. (Mostly after airlifting them back to a new front becomes an option.)

Airlifting? By then you should have a respectable railroad network.

some preparation might be useful . ı currently play Twilight of Byzantium , a mod where Genoa has no iron and ı have some that ı can trade . Now ı am trying to find an optimum so that ı can clear the map in the game's time limit , probably you guess ı have played it more than a few times and Genoa's vulnerability is my gain . Trade iron for a couple of sciences and immediately pillage the roads . ı can manage without iron and Genoa will be angry but ever ready to negotiate , as soon as ı see he has discovered something new . The second before the last though , he got into trade embargos against me . So ı decided to let him have the iron for 20 turns instead of immediate pillage . Now ı can't pillage the single iron source that goes to Genoa , even when a unit is on top of it and the pillage button is there to use . Picture shows the situation after the soldier pillaged the place near Ankara . First time ı see , but guess it is normal ?

ı have Leonardo's and find upgrading obsolete units easier than building with current tech . Which means ı have lots of units and when the one before last kept crashing ı though a unit limit was at play . If power is by headcount and ı had about 300 units at that time , then the histograph picture might mean there are about 786 units in the game . ı tried deleting 20 units or so , didn't work . Went back about 15 turns and no crash so far . Considering the unit number is likely to be same , it must be something else . Maybe relevant that it was the last turn of the iron deal with Genoa , where my iron sources were all deleted except one he was getting . Or is it a case where the computer just wants to get stuck ?

ı am currently halfway the game , and there will be lots of enemies , but ı have the option of tons of armies . So do ı destroy obsolete units to convert a quarter of their shield value into armies , do ı ugrade them and destroy to give a quarter of increased shield values , or do ı simply buy the army ?

Power is not computed by military units.
It's almost never a good idea to upgrade units and then disband them.
If I were you I'd upgrade them and throw them at the AI. I'd buy the armies. (maybe throw the units into the armies?)
Obsolete units are good to keep in freshly conquered cities against uprising and for basic defense. Also to block AI units and stall them.

On a side note. What is wrong with your I button? It's quite annoying to read, also when you combine spaces before your commas and points.

ı have 80 swordsmen waiting to be upgraded into the UU of the mod and enough cities for about 15 additional armies which can carry only one unit .

regarding the style it is uniquely mine and when there are lots of arguing and bickering in certain flamewars that crop and crop up again it acts as a kind of banner . Sorry for the inconvenience .

I find this surprising. e.e. cummings wanabees are so last century.:lol::lol:

no no , entirely related to my local -Turkish- web fora , where ı -used to- repeatedly get accused of things and they used to follow me around . ı would write something negative about something in English , it would get translated , mostly wrong naturally , and would be used to whack me . ı still don't know ı am a racist nationalist Turkish traitor to the nation and the state or an American bot ...

the style though identifies my posts . So , people think twice before , you know , reaching conclusions . Not related to the game ı like so much when and if ı am winning .

Is there actually any kind of meaning in not dotting "ı"? I mean, aside from it being your personal style.

It always reminds me of Queen's March of the Black Queen:
Walking true to style
She's vulgar 'buse and vile
Fie-fo the Black Queen, tattoos all her pies
She boils and she bakes, and she never dots her "I's"

we have 2 varieties of the letter I in Turkish , one without the dot and it certainly eases my wish to refer to myself in a pre-emptive deragotory form . ı am a small man while "I" would make me big . Nobody bothers to prove how small ı am , once the world sees how small ı am .

sorry - but that is just pathetic. Will pray for you.

Not all keyboards are similar. Mine doesn't have the letter 'ß', if I need it when I'm typing in German I copypaste it (although 'ss' is an accepted alternative). I don't have the Euro-symbol either, so I just type 'Euro' in full if I need it.
But if I didn't have the 'i' I would just go with 'ı' if that's what I had, never mind being 6'5''. What else to do?

What I did there, it's called sarcasm.

Yes, um, also the dotless i (ı) is pronounced like an u: /ɯ/.
True. I had my current game on my mind, where I was conquering a second continent, so had to airlift reinforcements. Either that or ship-chain 'em.
Ship-chain with transports? I assume no gamer would stoop so low as to place a transport here and another one here and then load some troops from this port… I mean, um…

Anyway, the railway system should help with the airlift.

Thank you.

Yes, if you have conquest. You use the eidtor to make a random map and set the properties to31 civs. Then run from civ content the biq you just saved. As long as you do not "study th emap, it should be fine.

I suggest a map of 200x200 or at least 180x180 for 31 civs.
