Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

For HOF (Hall Of Fame) games, the minimum number of AI civs per map size is:

Tiny: 2
Small: 3
Standard: 4
Large: 6
Huge: 8

For best results in HOF games, I use these numbers. :)

How many cities to build also depends on how you're trying to win. For a cultureal victory or a domination victory, you need tons of cities. For a 20K single city cultural victory, UN diplomatic victory or a space ship victory, it's less critical. No matter how you want to win, having a large infrastructure and control of lots of resources and luxuries is always helpful.

You know how you can change skins of the units in the editor? And how people put units that they made on here so you can use them? So how do you get them into the game without destroying some vital component to my computer. PLEASE help. (and try and make it short and simple, because I hate long tutorials) Please help! :please::please::please::please::please::please::please:

They have some tutorials in the creation forum that probably explain it. Basically you find the units in the Arts folder. If you just look at the Art and Text folders, you can see what is going on.

I am playing a continents game and own my landmass. I want to donate 10 workers to Germany and have them in my capitol but the option does not come up. Am I missing something...
Oh.. do I have to pay maintenance on the workers if I give them away.

(Much as I hate Germany in the game, I hate the Vikings more. Hence my support for the guys in blue.)

Do you have a trade route?

is it possible that the fact it is another continent matters?

Ok... that isn't going to happen...

That place is full and filled for every square

thank you... didn't know that.

Well since the vikings are now a OCC I can sneak in a city and test your theory. Only question is who should get my city when done

Well we may never know. I think it was because teh Germans did not have a harbour city. They took Reykjavik which had a harbour. This came on the same turn I built a city. But I don't yet have a harbour in my city.

I don't need the hassle. I am going for a cultural win and Germany will be sure to declare just on general principles. :rotfl:

they are at war with OCC vikings and the Maya

You could always encourage them to not declare, by having a good enough relationship with them, and enough troops for when that relationship fails.

Already gave it away. I gave it to Germany because they were at war with others so it would not be safe. Could have made it Persia but why create more havoc than necessary? :mischief:

I can't see why that would be necessary, in essence it's just another trade.

Does Germany have a trade embargo against you? Or you against them?

I really think it was the harbour thing. but I could trade horses without a harbour:confused:

there were no embargoes.

No, it was having a city on their continent. I don't understand the rationale, but that is the rule.
