C3C question: I captured Statue of Zeus from Americans in New York. Civilopedia says that Ivory is needed to build it but it didn't produce units until I got ivory, I suppose this is a (known) bug or just lack of info in civilopedia?

It's well known, though I don't think it's a bug.

It's not producing any culture, how come?

Wonders don't, once captured.

And does its effect end when someone or just I research metallurgy?

When you do.

I don't think I agree with this. I have rented ivory and built the SoZ and gotten AC units long after my trade deal ended.

You only need the resource to build the thing. Once you qualify you're in. I have also taken the city with SoZ and gotten the units as well.

I never keep saves so I can't show that happening.

I suspect you are getting ivory from some place as otherwise you are not suppose to get units from SoZ. If I slow down on Civ5 I will run a test. Just cut the road to supplies the ivory and see.

I wouldn't be surprised if you got one more after cutting the ivory. I would be surprised if it was two or more.

I agree with vxma on the matter. IIRC, it's used on purpose in some mods.

Is it possible to run Civ 3 in "Full-Screen" mode under Windows 7?

Yes, as far as I can see from my computer. Why not?

When I run it on my new laptop with Windows 7, Civ 3 only covers about half the width of the screen.

Now, if I run Civ 5 or, say, Windows Explorer, No Problem!

Try adding 'KeepRes=1' to your .ini file.

If you plant a city that takes you over the domination limit but settler abandon a city on the inter turn will you stay under the domination limit.

Just at a guess - based on my games... I think you would hit the limit. but don't quote me on that.

I think you will NOT incur a Domination Victory if the number of tiles within your borders is less than the DL AFTER the inter-turn has completed......So you should be okay.

Like darski (even though we disagree on the outcome), I'm also not 100% sure.

I would also say you don't trigger a domination win. I think I have even done this abandoning of cities on the interturn, but it's been a while since I had a game where staying just under the dom limit was a concern.
