Question: I'm in the ancient game as the Vikes. I got the Lighthouse and started sending out Settlers and Spearmen. I'm on the same Arch as the Romans. One of the first Arch's I hit had the Sumerians and Indians on it, so I introduced myself, made some trades and opened embassies. Now, I want to sell their introductions to the Romans. How do I do that? I couldn't find anything on it in the manual, or in Espionage, or in the Foreign Advisor.

Does battlefield Medicine have any influence on this at all ?
With BM, units heal faster in enemy territory.
I don't know the exact rates though. Someone else undoubtedly will fill you in on that :)

In vanilla, BM was even more powerful IMHO, because without it, healing in enemy territory wasn't even possible in the first place.

I always thought that was the case in vanilla.
In C3C, they made healing in ET always possible. BM merely speeds it up now.

But I could be wrong. I have been before :D

I've never healed in enemy territory before.

How is the damage dealt by a nuke worked out ? What i mean is im well aware it cuts the city size in half. (Hmm so that means a size one can never be nuked out of existence) It pollutes the tile it hits and all the ones aound it and destroys all improvements on that land. But what about units and buildings in the city in question. Is it a flat percentage chance of destroying each unit or building or is there a way its worked out each time. On a side note i dont think ive ever seen a wonder destroyed by a nuke. Not sure if thats just chance tho. Its just in a game i was playing recently i nuked a size 48 city down to size 3 before attacking it just to find alone spearman in there with 2 hit points. All the good units had been destroyed (it was late in the game, ok you guessed that as i had nukes) My Modern Armour and Tow Units approached the city and i was thinking o dear a lone injured Spearman against my Modern Armour i dont stand a chance even if i do outnumber him. Ok i did kill him but i still took 2 damage !!! All the wonders that had been built in this city were still intact and there were still a few of the improvements still there. Forget nuclear dugouts hide in the Granery if you get what i mean.

Any ideas anyone ?

Yes, Armies are an exception.......they WILL heal in ET. :)

I think 50% of the units die, 50% live. Not sure about buildings, but I bet the same percentage.

If your starting position is one tile away from the coast, is it worth the extra turn to move your Settler to found your capital city on the water?

Thank you in advance!

Indeed it is, unless there is a compelling reason to move away from the coast in the other direction 1 tile, to say, get on a river, or a bonus resource. If you settle 1 tile from the coast, you'll end up with tiles that will produce 1 food and 2 commerce for the rest of the game. If you settle on the coast, you can build a harbor and produce 2 food and 2 commerce (later 3 commerce with a Commercial Dock and 1 production with an Offshore Platform).

Two Questions more about CFC than CivIII:

- Where is the appropriate place to put questions about CFC? Here?

- I've created a thread and would like to change the name (there are already a few posts there). Is it possible?

Have you been to Site Feedback yet? That's the place for questions, although some are covered in the stickied FAQ thread. A few anyway.

Only by a moderator. If it's important to you it be done, PM one of the mods responsible for that forum and they'll probably do it.

Last I heard about it was Vanilla, before 1.29, and even then it was rare. Maybe it was patched out?

I have never healed in ET either ... I suspect that unclaimed territory would be similar
Land units can heal in unclaimed territory.
