You want to go to the Creation and Custimozation Forum. There you can find maps, mods, scenarios, and unit graphics.

Yup, silver is right and...
welcome to CFC, boxmanku! :)

And here's a link to the Creation & Costomization forum:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=46

I can't tell if there's actually a completed LOTR scenario, but maybe you ask there and the modding buffs show you the right place. The C&C forum has also some subforums (completed scenarios, unit gfx etc) where you may find some stuff.

If you want to make your own scenario and need some input (sounds like), you could also discuss the various aspects like tech-tree etc there.

C&C is frequently visited by some excellent unit creators and you can eventually just make a request for a unit - if it doesn't already exist. Stick to the "Unit Request Thread" in this case. IIRC, there's also some thread with a clearly arranged 'table of contents' where to find the various existing unit files.

In reg Civ3:

I see it will cause war if you create a city within a foreign nation's boundries if you have a ROP treaty with them. (Again, an important detail not anywhere in the game's instructions  ) Can anyone tell me if one can create a city inside a nation's boundries if you don't have a ROP agreement, without causing war? I'm guessing that would cause war too, but I really don't know.

Thanks!! :)

One other thing... I don't see an Upgrade indication for Muskettmen/Musketters. Is that correct that Muskettmen/Musketters do not Upgrade to Riflemen nor Infantry, nor anything else?

That would be odd. It seems more real for a Muskettman to Upgrade to a Rifleman, than a Pikeman to Upgrade to a Muskettman. :crazyeye:

Building a city inside another nation's boundaries will always result in war. Building on the edge of their territory and pushing back their borders will not however.

Musketmen/Musketeers do upgrade to Riflemen, and you must have a) the required technology for the upgrade, b) enough money, c) barracks in the upgrading city.

Thank you, Speaker!

Interesting, the Musketman screen in the Civilopedia doesn't show any upgrade, but I do see the Musketeers' screen shows the upgrade. Just editorial miss, I guess.

..........However, on my Civilopedia (Civ 3 version 1.29f), Musketman shows upgradable to Rifleman BUT Musketeer shows NO upgrade.

As Speaker says, both presumably upgrade to Rifleman. :)

Okay, but how do you do that? I tell the galley to go into deep water but it just won't go. I put the cursor on deep water and the movement circle shows up but without a number in it--if I click there the galley just ignores the order.

You can do it just one tile at a time. I.e. you cannot say "go 3 tiles into deep water", you can say "go 1 tile into deep water" and then again until you got movement points.

However, I'm not using suicide galleys anymore as it seems they're VERY suicide: they never survive to the 1st turn in deep waters!

Both the Civ3 editor and the Civ3 Conquests editor tells me that Musketeers upgrade into Riflemen. Since the editor governs the rules for the game, I'm going to agree with Speaker..

musketeer upgrades to risleman, in addition to what speaker said, you must have the resource connected (for infantry). i'm guessing the problem is you don't have a barracks in the city

Is there a way to turn off the map in the lower left? In the Napoleonic Wars scenario Gibraltar is nearly completely behind it.

Press the 'Delete key'. But this will take away ALL extra stuff. Worker buttons, the info box on the right side, menu buttons.

Pressing 'Delete' again will bring it back.

Does anyone know the bonuses that the AI gets on Demigod and Sid difficulty levels, or where to get them.

Speaking of culture, what's wrong with my current game? Culture victory is enabled, I've had more than 160k points for the last three turns, but I get no victory message.

You need twice the culture of your nearest opponet. In this case, in order to win the game this turn, you would need 243,602 culture to win it.
