Can anyone point me to a good page detailing how a Zone of Control Works, what units have one, etc.?

Thank you for the post Turner, anyone else who reads this I advocate proliferation of requests to get an editor that allows changing rules in a current game. It has to be possible bc the computer has a set of rules that it saves at the start of a game. Yes, I know there is a possibility of crashes with the introduction of new rules, but I believe the benefits far outweigh the possible crashes. Or an editor that takes .sav files and converts them to .bic or .biq files. Let's do it!!!!

Just played with an expansionist civ for the first time and was amazed how I raced through the first age like hell thanks to all the techs from huts. Can you only get ancient techs from huts or was it coincidence I never got any after I reached the second age?

I think that you can only get techs in the Ancient age. Once you reach higher ages all you'll get is maps, or ocassionally gold.

It is well documented that fortifying a naval unit will increase its sight by 1 square. I would like to know if the 25% defensive bonus for fortification applies only to ground units or do ships get the benefit as well?

Yes, but only to Musketmen IIRC, since they are already 1.3.1, the same as a Pikeman. The Civlopedia should tell you...

Where can I get those "mood badges" for my citizens (C3C 1.15b)?

I searched here for them, but sorry, I did not find the link... :)

is there ANY way to edit the aerial view so that CUSTOM improvements/wonders will appear on the aerial view screen like the origional Civ III buildings?

it would be very helpful if any of you could help me....

thnx

the100thballon, I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but if you mean the zoomed out view in city mode, there is not much you can do with that view. What do you use that view for anyway? I mean, its nice in a 'king of all you survey' way, but I've never found much use in that view. You can get to all the Civilopedia entries by rt-clicking on them in the bottom left of city view.

My hard drive crashed and I lost a couple of configuration settings.

Can someone tell me
1) the command needed to disable the intro movies
2) the command needed to increase the number of autosaves?

Thanks,

I do mean that. im just curious if you can edit that. can you make them show up like the other buildings when you build them. i know how to edit the Civilopedia, etc. just not the aerial, or "zoomed out", view....

no one knows how?

So I've got Civ III Gold Edition, and I want to set it up to be able to play the game on my 2-computer LAN in my home office. Do I have to buy the complete Gold Edition just to play now and then with a second player on computer #2, or can I install it on both computers, then just buy a PTW expansion pack to have a CD for it to access in the drive? This would be the US version if that makes any difference.

How do I move all units on a tile? I used to know but I havent played for a while and now I cant remember.

Blackfaer, to have a 2 player game, you need 2 purchased copies of Civ . However, you can now buy CivIII original for $10 new from Amazon and PTW used for $10 also listed on Amazon) so technically you could be set up straight for another $20. (They also list Gold used for only $27).

Thanks Much. And just to confirm, there shouldn't be any compatibility problems with Gold vs. CivIII and PTW, right?
