The GL goes obsolete when the owner of it discovers Education. As long as the AI doesn't have Education, it can build the GL. :)

I wish I'd known that, I always race for Education with the intention of knocking GL out of action. I suppose the same goes for all Wonders?

Hello people
I need some help with editing the Earth huge secenario.I changed the the barbarian activity to villages only, but when I start a new game they are like moving around and attacking me.

Do barbarians disappear later in game(like when you enter Modern Era),or is there a way to eliminate them because every time I destroy their camp,a new one appears?

I apologize for my english.

Nope, that's pretty much the way barbs are. If you want to get rid of them, set them to 'no barbs' (which completely removes goody huts from the game) or 'sedentary', and then they will only be spawned if popped from a hut. If you're playing an expansionist civ, you will never pop a barb from a hut.

I know that but I need help editing the Earth Huge map,in the scenario properties I set the barbarian activity to villages only, but when I start a new game using that scenario the barbs are moving and attacking me.Help!

If you can post the scenario then someone can peek at it. Sorry I don't have a better answer than that....

^^^
Teh 666 post teh devil beware.Just joking.
I mean the scenario that came with the game. Can anyone help?

I know what you're talking about Cleric. I had the same problem when I first got Civ3. Now though, I know how to amend it, and have done so :) I've tested it, and the huts are gone. But there might still be one or two that I missed.
Anyhoo, here ye go...

Yay, thanks a lot :)

Ok, I can't stand cycling through my cities at the end of each turn, to see if they are going to revolt. That borders on work, and I don't play pc games, to do work. I do that from 9-5 everyday, I'd rather not do it at home too.

I have to say, using the f1 screen to try and predict which ones will go into disorder next turn, absolutely blows. They give the ability to categorize by happy/content faces. Well, that's just frickin great. I need to know the number of UNHAPPY faces, and I'd like to find some way of doing it, without having to COUNT the unhappy faces of each city on the f1 screen, or cycling through each city.

Is there a way to do this? I mean, is there a way to cateorize on the f1 screen (ie, by hitting one of the categories) to show which has the most unhappy faces? I know that if you let them go into CD, you can find out which are not producing, by clicking on the shield category, but is there a way to id these cities easier than actually counting the unhappy faces, the turn PRIOR to them going into disorder?

Oh, and I know the governor will keep them from going into disorder if you tell it, but according to bamspeedy's settler article, if you use the governor, you actually lose production for that added citizen, because the gov turns him into an entertainer. So, the gov is not an option.

I mean, if they are going to make you micromanage each city each turn, the least they could do, is make it a bit easier to see which are going to go to CD next turn........

Yes wvfoos, you're in luck!!! :)

Download CRpSuite from:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=52902

It will tell you cities that will go into Civil Disorder NEXT turn and cities that are "polluted", have "imminent border expansion", "Domination Limit" etc.

Also, I have put in a request to the Author, Dianthus, to show those cities that have increased in population size THIS TURN......'cos as you know the Civ Program doesn't usually put the "new" laborer to work on the best square.......especially if you're doing a "Milk Run"! ;)

Dianthus said that mod shouldn't be too difficult! :goodjob:

Hope that helps! :)

I apologize for my english.

Barbarians should be banished from the game when all the territory is under someone or other's cultural influence, because camps only appear outside cultural borders. Unless you're playing with a reduced number of civs for that map size, this shouldn't take longer than the late middle ages because the AI civs are expansion crazy. There are also barbarian uprisings, meaning the appearance of a huge number of horsemen, I believe when the second civ enters the midieval era?

There's nothing wrong with your English, if you weren't a little on the polite side I'd have thought you were a native speaker. :hatsoff:

Here's my question: I know you can play after someone has won, but can you play and save a game after someone has won? I want to play a huge world map conquest game that may take more than the maximum allowed turns of 1000.

Yup, as far as I know. Your score just won't go up, nor can you win by any other means. If you don't conquer all (or win any other way) before the last turn, you'll probably win histograph. But you can still play and save for as long as you'd like.

Can't see the option for setting up custom avatars!

Sorry, I mean engaging my own custom avatar

Yeah, scroll down in the "edit avatar" section, there you can specify where your avatar is located. You can upload one as well.
