Is there a search routing available on this site. The one on the home page tells me I may not have 'sufficient privileges' to use it.

Thanks

you can still use the google source

Firstly, i'm not sure how this thread works, so if i've posted wrong I appologise. I'm playing PTW and i'm just curious about the differences between Civ2&3. In Civ 2 you were able to continue the game after the turn limit ended and the game had been won/lost. Is it still possible? I'm just wondering if I can play for points in my current game and then wipe out the opposition with tactical nukes and cruise missiles after the game has finished when it no longer counts. Is this still an option?

Feel free to nuke them once the histograph score is over. :nuke:

Tac Nukes can be sea-launched from near-invisible Nuke Subs. I once laid waste to half a continent (the half not mine) with Tacs.

Neil.

ICBMs can be air-launched from near-invisible satellites. I once laid waste to half the world (the half not mine) with ICBMs. :D

(A long time ago, it did actually happen)

I loved doing that in Civ 2! Let's see how this works in Civ 3! :scan: :mischief:  :bump: :nuke: :nuke: :nuke: !!! :goodjob: [party] :band:

I also went through a phase of nuking the opposition capitals the turn before I completed my spaceship.

Neil.

Be advised that some units can survive in a city.

One time I got hit and the one unit left standing was an ICBM - guess what I did with that one!
:mischief:

@alamo: Did you disband it? :joke:

@eldar: If you nuke the turn before completing the spaceship, might the AI retaliate and destroy some of your parts before you finish?

Zelda's man, not if they haven't discovered Space Flight or if you've got a monopoly on uranium. :nuke:

There's really nothing like hitting every Persian city on the last turn with an ICBM and then launching.

I'm missing something, probably because my games never develop that far. Why are we nuking the world as the spaceship completes? Because unless it's a really huge spaceship . . .

We're nuking the world because
(a) a nuke retaliation can't (afaik) destroy wonders - you have to capture the city;
(b) civs still in the Middle Ages just plain *can't* build nukes
(c) we can :devil2:

Shift-cntl-M clears the map, but I belive you can choose exactly what it does. I guess you could use this to find the bonus grassland before you clear it. Cna you do this? How?

I think it's Ctrl+M.
But you can also click the triangle shaped Options button in the upper left corner of the main screen, then choose Map Options.

Thanks. To clarify, Ctrl+M brings up the map options, and that tells you that cntl-shft-n is clear map preferences. It does not show the dots that tell you what a grass land gives you, so you cannot use it to tell which will give you bonus grass land before you clear it.

Thanks for the help.

[EDIT] Ctrl-M brings up the main meni, and then you can go to the map options
