Quick Questions / Quick Answers

First question: Can we pin this post?

Second question: Does someone know about a modmod showing promotion trees for Vox Populi?, Unfortunely, this mod is not compatible

At some point I'd like to do one better. Close this thread, convert the contents into a FAQ, and then open up a new thread for new questions.

Hello, I am tyring at the moment the mod "reforestation" to give me the possibilty to place forests where I need them, but somehow, I want to plant a farm on a hill with forest next to a river, I just have the option even after chopping to replant the forest, the hotkey is bound to "f" for it. But the option to place a farm is completly missing, is it possible on flat land, but not on river hills. Is there still an opportunity to get the farm down, like changing the hotkey settings? If not, I will remove that mod for my next game. Sure it would be nice to place forest on places where I cant place a village and a single farm isnt that usefull, but if that mod takes my possibilties to create farm clusters, it is not that usefull for me.

Since a few patches, farms can't be placed on hills (this changes behaviour only for fresh water hills, of course). That's not a problem with Reforestation, but a VP feature.

How can I improve relations with other civs? There's times when I'd like to buy open borders with civs just to make moving around easier, but even offering an embassy to a neutral opinion civ is set to impossible value.

Oh really, somehow I missed that change. Damn it, I like planning the layout of my Empire, that changes quite some...

Farms:
  • Gain +1f when on Fresh water.
  • Farm base is now +1f on non-fresh, +2f on fresh.
  • Cannot be built on non-flat land.
    • Yes, this will make farm clusters more difficult, however it also helps to define the role of a farm as a flatland improvement. Mines, quarries, pastures, etc. are all your hill improvements. Also helps distinguish the Terrace Farm UI further.

Try to share a religion, have trade routes, trade ressources with them and give them more than you receive, denounce their enemies

How many GWAM points do you get from each respective UA trigger when playing as France/Japan? Just enough to get your next set of GWAMs, a fixed amount scaling with era, or what?

Its a percent of the amount needed for the next great person, so you get more points in the late game when you have had a few great persons already.

How much percentage, do you know?

Also, just want to clarify, you wouldn't instantly get GWAMs after you get the UA trigger?

I checked, the value is set to 50, so 50 percent I suppose.

And I think you do, since I remember getting GWAM as Japan the moment a Great General is born.

How to optimize spy in counter-spy usage? What to account for placing spy in one of your cities except capital? What do you need to watch for (like, notification perhaps) in order to know that you correctly place a counter-spy?

Most of the times I experienced it was too late to kill foreign spy. From my observation (assigning spy in one city for 20ish turns in standard game) usually no foreign spy have been found even when I was using that Order-tenet that doubles the chance of catching spy in owned cities. Now, this is just a guess but, is it true that you can only kill a spy in one particular turn when he was attempting to perform advanced spy actions or the two normal actions itself (stealing tech or GW)?

Does selecting the belief Theocratic Rule for WLTKD bonus apply for China's UA of WLTED?

Yes, it's a very common strategy
Ok so Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and any bonus to WLTKD applies for China as well. Figured as much, but just wanted to be sure before I picked my beliefs for my current game.
