Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Hello Gazebo . I only want to use 2 parts

First - Community Patch (1) to improve AI

Second -
  • Civ 4 Diplomacy Features, by Putmalk

But I cannot find the standalone version (1a) in the downloads folder to use alongside CP as you wrote on "How to install" Vox Populi thread.

Please help. I don't want to use other parts.

Hi, sorry, missed your messages - (1a) is no longer supported due to inactivity from the original modder, I need to remove that. You should be able to use (4) with (1), however, in the manual install folder, however I haven't tried it lately.

Thanks for the answer.
I did as you said, follow manual construction, and when I enable (1) then (4) in CIV 5 client game, it said: "Mod is missing, required dependencies". So it needs Commnity Balance Patch I guess?

You'll need to cross 50% more distance than standard to get anywhere, which is a problem if you need to interact with anyone halfway across the globe. The default 10 players and 20 city states occupy a space that fits 12 and 24, so empires will naturally be larger.

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING NERFED(and the statue of liberty).

Edit: Because it was never the intentions of BNW for these wonders to buff Laborers (although pre-BNW allowed it but this allowed the unemployed korean to be tech leader #1 and they removed it).
Thats sad, I wanted to make a "whats possible" scenario and try to reach population 100 with an indian capital. With the plan to unlock each +yield for specialist policies.

Might be a stupid question, but when you're building a settler, do you still need to produce a certain amount of food to feed your pops?

Yes, its like chicorbeef said. I suggest you manually check the citizen placement in case of settler production, often the automatic placement isnt the optimum.

Sort of.

Your citizens still eat. If you produce extra food, you do get more production for it. However, if you have negative food, you don't face any penalty. Sometimes the best set up does involve producing negative food to get more production.

Duel, tiny, small and standard maps all have the same settling area per player ratio. Large has a bigger ratio and huge has it even bigger. IIRC, For large maps to feel like standard, you have to set up 14 players instead of the 12 default. Huge requires 18.
If you play large with the default number of players, it becomes imbalanced in favor of wide play.

From what I can tell, most firaxis large maps are +50% area and have a default 10 civs.

Guys why cant I spread my religion with a prophet to that city alone? All other hunnic cities I converted fine, but that one doesnt even give me an option to try.

I always wondered, what kind of setups do you guys who play those huge maps with 42 civs have? What kind of computer do you need to play that start to finish with as little slowdown as possible, if it's even possible.

It has an Inquisitor based there. You can't spread directly if there's one in or next to the city.

Right. So 2 for duel, 4 for tiny, 6 for small, 8 for standard. 10 in large, which has to be increased to 12, and 12 in huge, to be increased to 16.
I'm using right now a larger than normal map script, and that confounded me.
Do I increase city states as well? Are there any balance concerns if I use 12/24 on large?

Yes, 2 city states per player.
As long as you keep the same area/players ratio, balance should be the same. Many bonuses scale depending on map size. If ever, domination might be harder to complete, since you need to conquer more capitals and move more units over larger terrain, but I'm just guessing, since I don't play bigger than standard. Maybe other players can speak from experience.
