What is it that gives +2 production to the barracks/armory etc? Ive looked through thee tech tree more than i care to admit and can not find it.

I am pretty sure the minimum distance between two cities is 4 hexes (3 hexes between them), but in my last game the celts placed 2 times a city only 3 hexes away(2 hexes between the cities). (Small map)
Was there something changed in the last patches or is this a bug?

Were they on the same landmass? Because if they are on different landmasses the minimum distance is 3 hexes instead of 4.

Really? Is that new? Never seen this before. But its true, in both cases it was a small island in front of my landmass.
Thanks for the information.
The AI settle logic is already pretty weird and annoying. This mechanic gives even more potential to reload a game. ;D

I think that's fixed 30 turns, but it could have been changed. And there's a corporation that cuts the time in half.
Last time i watch the code it was somethign like "if the number of turn is passed, don't do an other travel". When the caravan has returned to your city and the XX turn cooldown is passed, the route is now finished. So it's always a bit more than 30 turns (on normal speed).

Under what circumstances can you make a defensive pact with an AI? I've seen plenty of AI civs with defensive pacts, but never managed to get one myself.

Sometimes I am not given the opportunity to puppet a city that I conquer. The dialog window with the options doesn't open at all. This was especially annoying when I wanted to liberate a city-state that was conquered by someone else previously - the dialog didn't show up and the city was annexed to me automatically. What logic controls this? Is it possibly a bug? Is there a cap on the number of puppets you can have?

Glad someone feels the same as well.

For me the same situation was once, in city was 2-3-4 workers, and dialog appeared at next turn only, as I remember.

you must have a declaration of friendship. The AI is more willing to have a def pact with you if you are stronger than he and he's afraid of someone else. The problem is, human army score is very low compare to AI (because it's based on number of units, not the skill, and ai has a higher number of unit cap), so it's extremely difficult.

Really? I had a Defensive Pact with my liberated vassals(that I liberated the vassalization as well) and we weren't friends.

Also, I find that Defensive Pacts are usually founded when we are fighting a much stronger common enemy like think the alliances formed against Napoleon.

I may be wrong.
And i think you have an automatic defensive pact with your vassal.

U can have def pact without friendship, as I know. Just need good army.
About vassals... is it possible to declare war on vassal? As I remember u must declare war on master and cant declare war only on vassal.

No I liberated the vassal because I'm Doge Enrico who needs more trading partners.

A war on a vassal is a war upon the master as well.

Is there a way to build a Train Station in your capital/OCC?
If you have a city connected via railroad, you should technically have a train station buildable in your capital.

It's OCC so I can't to other of my own cities, but a railroad to a neighbor's city didn't work. They won't accept friendship, so I can't see if that would allow it either. I'll try to a nearby allied CS next.
