Quick Questions / Quick Answers

Thanks, makes sense. I guess I'll blame her following denouncing on "Your Behavior Infuriates Them (-34)" and "Territorial Disputes strain your relationship (-40)" then. Just felt like something was going on if I promised to do something and then she denounces me before I even break it.

I would say that's it. I like transparent diplomacy as well (it makes sense IMHO that you have feedback about how an AI should be feeling about you). Didn't understand why the promises were a negative thing until Gazebo explained it. Sometimes territorial disputes are a bit too serious for normal relations to survive whatever you do.

I get Warmongering negative modifier (dark ages) like -750 or -1450 in late game. Is this normal? I mean, there is absolutely no way to make up in positive modifiers for it.
I don't play with transparent diplomacy, so I don't know if the number are correct (seems like a bug), but it may be explained by the fact the "The more a civ hate you, the more it doesn't like when you make warmonger actions". So a friend will usually tolerate your warmonger behavior, while an ennemy will enter in a "loop" of "I hate you so I hate your even more".

Are there some general tips for ethopia eg timing for your free techs early and so on?

I wanna play them for the first time for my next game (emperor)

@matlajs often writes about them right?
I find Ethiopia quite easy to play, actually. Your unique building is the first building you usually want to build, giving you a step into founding without renouncing to early culture. A goal for Ethipia, I think, is reforming her religion, for another extra tech. Mehal Sefari is a defensive unit, so you want your early settling be as large as possible, plan on spreading your religion, and then ripe the benefits. Avoid having many coastal cities, try to keep all your coastal cities grouped in the same sea.
You also get extra faith for golden ages and your borders expand faster, so goddess of expansion (love?) and brand new artistry make sense.
If you fail to expand properly, then Fealty may be better.

About timing techs, that's something I've never managed. You get inadvertedly a great scientist or a great writer and ruins your timings. If you want to build something badly, just remember to swap queue when your targeted building is available, instead of waiting for the last thing to be produced.

True that there is a "hate-loop", but almost entire game I noticed values like -34 or -60. One civ was approaching -100, I think. All these are quite ok. Then suddenly late game -1450? I'm rather interested if the value is not some kind of bug or is it really intended to be so huge (but for what reason then?)

Two entirely unrelated questions:

A) Does nuking an opposing civilization cause a surge in war weariness, and if so what would the value be? My citizens had been getting incredibly pissed off about a war I was otherwise curbstomping and if it's not that I dunno what it would be.

B) When starting a new game in Advanced Settings, does the "Terra - All Civs start on largest continent" option for Communitas account for the fact during worldbuilding that 6-8 Civs are going to be stuffed together, or will you end up with 8 Civs packed on a continent meant for half that amount while a 2nd, pristine one goes to waste on the other side of the map?

i wonder, if world wonder cost increase for AI same as for player. i see through espionage, that carthage is building Porcelain tower for 1299 production, while they have alread built 7 wonders, 4 from medieval and chichen itza from renaisance. or is that another ,,little'' bonus for AI? .....

-1450? What have you done, Infixo?! *-*

Do you research writing very early? As I like to play warmongers I leave that until last, might be my problem. I didn't think it would make much difference though.
You're playing Authority, I assume. Authority generally does worse at science, at least at first. As long as you're pumping out cities and military units, there isn't necessarily any way around that.

The AI bonuses thread has AIWorldConstructPercent, so yes.

That difficulty modifier isn’t used.

Hell if I know... I have DoF with 2 Civs and 1 Vassal, but the other 4 hate me. They DoW me all the time, like in turns. Sometimes they sync and I have 4 wars... And I have only ever started war in like turn 50. EVER. All other wars - I am DoWed. Poland, which is closest, hates me as much as that -1450 modifier. Crazy...
SW clip is cool :)

Playing as England and I'd rather keep things peaceful. Chosen Progress, is 11 cities gonna be enough? I know that you need more for Progress. Is this gonna be enough or am I better off conquering Carthage? (I have a feeling she will overtake me)

11 cities is definitely enough! But if you puppet more cities while managing to stay above 10 happiness, that only benefits you!

Do any building improve those 3 unique luxuries of Indonesia? Or they intend to be just skyrocket'' starting tiles?

How do I theme the Assyrian Royal Library? The mouse-over text in the Culture Overview says ensure both works are from foreign civilizations, but this looks out of date as there are three slots. I tried three all from foreign civs but that does not appear to work (I'm using 11-6 version)

I noticed in my last game that simetimes those bonuses glitch out, i.e. they show 0 despite obvious fact they are a match. When I removed all works and put them back in - they were ok then.

Thanks for the tip! Works OK after moving them all to other slots and then putting them back.
