So a CS alliance does not work like a defensive pact... makes sense... somehow... Thank you. :)

I'm pretty sure you do get a peace treaty (can't declare war) IF they were ally at the time of a peace treaty with the major civ.

Is there a way to enforce a one city challenge on both the player and the AI so all civs have only 1 city.

How is engineer yields calculated?

It is clear and stated that writer has 5 turns of your culture output (btw do instant yields also count into this, i don't think so, but it's rather important), 2 turns of science has great scientist, but it is not said what does engineer have. I think this is too much for even 5 turns of prodcution in that city + policy bonus (only industry in this case I think).

Also they say every created and owned manufactory/academy/town will increase yields. Does that mean from your GP and those you conquered from AI playewr great people? Or does it mean both must be true, academy you created and not lost (still in your city, borders)?

I can't tell you about base production output, but the 10% per GPTI is all that were both created and own by you. Conquered and lost GPTIs don't count.

I have a question regarding Celtic pantheon "Bran, the Sleeping Guardian". I am not sure i understand how it works.
First of all: it says "+4 yeilds... for every 5 followers in owned cities", but it seems to me its only +1 of yields for 5 followers. Is the description wrong or am i reading it wrong? :)
Second: the description says "...in your Capital/Holy city". Does it mean the effect should double if i found my religion in non capital city? It does not seem to be the case, since when i found my religion in non-capital i start to receive bonus yeilds only in my holy city, but not in capital. But i am not sure if it was intended to work this way.
Third: i noticed that when i found this pantheon it gives "1 yeilds" for each 5 followers, but when i found my religion, the effect shrinks. I presume it shrinks due to the fact that any religion includes Pantheon itself but while religion is not spread to my other citieis i can get my yields only from the followers of my religion - and those are only from my city where i founded my religion. It is intended to work this way?

Current game playing as Babylon, was going well into the mid ages until my a-hole neighbor Indonesia sneak attacks me. Hundreds of turns of pointless war (I turtled up bc his army was a lot bigger), no land gained or lost just endless production wasted on mil units. Finally he peaces out... but by this point I'm noticing that other civs are 2 or 3 techs ahead of me. Babylon is supposed to be the science king, but the stupid war derailed me. I think I'm mid 1800's in modern, but still lagging behind 2 or 3 techs and ranking 3rd from the bottom on score. I was also very late to get an ideology. I'm not sure I can catch up at this point, and I'm not big enough to beat my way to victory. I guess question is, if you get 3 techs behind can you ever catch back up? I missed out on a bunch of good wonders too. Stupid Indonesia.

In my current game I was 12 techs and 3 policies behind Japan as Sweden, now I'm 4 techs and 1 policy behind. Was last 11-12 position in techs, now I'm second, but he has 38 cities and I have 24, we are in Industrial, we will see how it's going to come out. I have more problems with unhappiness then with Japan directly. We are on different sides of planet, he conquered/vassalised his part, I also have 3 vassals. My happy/unhappy 432/342 right now and 60 unhappy from public opinion and if I take more cities I need to puppet them and stop growth in most cities.
