Quot Capita: Majesty

Perhaps you could treat Orichalcum in a similar way to how Uranium, with nuclear power plants, is treated in the game. It could have the equivalent of a meltdown.

It already has a chance for meltdown, similar to nuke.

I do agree that it needs to be extremely difficult to obtain however, probably rarer than uranium. Some idea tossing and potential tweeks here and there to fine tune it seems to be in order.

I greatly decreased the ratio of its appearance. I also greatly increased its worth at the same time. I can keep it somewhat uncommon(rather than rare) in the start of the game, but have it have a great chance of disappearing.

What do you think?

Hmnn. I like the idea of a depleatable resource, as that would make the Atlanteans have it as a priority.

SOG, what's the xml say about the percentage of appearance for it? We don't need to take it away, but if it is depleatable, that would make it highly desireable for trade. Not to mention continuous exploration in order to aquire it.

Looks like a nice project, more in-depth than my own project (see signature). I will have to DL this and give it a go. :goodjob:

Welcome back to the forums Cap :), Haven't seen you on in awhile.

Yes, the mod is extremely in-depth, especially where the mythological/ancient era civs are concerned. SOG is doing a great job, and we're all trying to give him feedback to assist in improving an already epic mod. Give it a whirl, and tell us what you think.

It is at 60 now, it was at 100 before, which was why it was so common. What are your thoughts on this my friend?

Thankyou for sticking with me on this project Drak.

I'm actually really looking forward to trying your mod. Please let me know what you think of mine. I really appreciate it Capo.

I think 60 is a good start. Should make the AI value it more now. Any thoughts to giving other civs a limited access to specialty buildings for the metal at a later tech era? I could probably come up with a few, just to make it more interesting for the other civs.

If you have ideas I'd be honored to implement them Drak. :)

ok. I'll do some research and see what I can come up with. Heh, been wanting to dig out some of my old books anyways :D.

Ok kiddo, I now have a butt-ton (according to the lingo of my 14yr old, who helped me dig through all the books :D) of info concerning Atlantis, as well as various other mythological civs. That's the potential problem though, as the info is relevant to the ideas you want for your mod.

Now, personally, I like mythology, and having it in a mod where documented civs are in as well just seems down right fun to me. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't really mimic FFH2, or come across as a fantasy mod, so I'd be inclined to go the mythology route, especially if it is done in a conceivable manner in relation to the rest of the civs.. Your call :mischief:.

Guys, I have a game on the go that get's held up "Waiting for other Civilizations..." It's a show stopper for me. Any thoughts what I can do to get past this point?

Hmnn, not off hand. Can you do a debug DLL? See if you can load the auto-save and then in the options menu under game, there should be a check box for debug.

I don't see a debug box under Options...

well crap.... Let me research then. Hmnn, SOG might know more as well if he shows. I'll work on it Kingpin. Sorry, I haven't modded since vanilla, so I'm extremely rusty.

Kingpin, sorry about the error. What happens before the game freezes? Can you exit to desktop then load and continue or is it happening every time? What civilization are you playing?

Drakarska: Any info you think would make fun gameplay-wise or otherwise would be awesome. Its cool you have kids into the same stuff as you btw.

Quiet in here.

Kingpin, I very much want to help. I need details though. I'm rearing up a new version, with Atlantis fixed for one.

I've been reading about a civilization that was highly advanced that existed in the Amazon. I'd like to include it in the mod(I'm not talking about Indiana Jones 4 but a real, advanced Amazonian civilization ;) )

Sorry, works been keeping me real busy. Will post goodies when I have time.

Sorry guys, I've been busy this week. I'm playing as Anawrahta of the Burmese Empire. I can load it from a save and have it do the same thing every time. As soon as I end my turn "Waiting for other Civilizations..." occurs and never goes away.
