Quot Capita: Majesty

heh, save it for the next update. how's the research going on yhose mythological civs going?

While I was extracting the mod from the zip file into my mods directory, Windows stopped the transfer at the last few files with a warning saying "This file's name is too long for this directory. Either shorten the file and try again or move it to a different location" and asked if I wanted to Skip or Cancel.

The file name said something about 'so-and-so unit (With chainmail)' which was all I could really see as the rest of it went off the side of the window panel. Only two files had this come up. Is this a problem or can I still run the mod without those two files?

I'm going threw what could be used(some of what you posted on the topic earlier is already in the mod :) )

Rezca: It won't work without them. I think your the second person who ran into this issue. You should be able to ignore Windows and place the mod in the mod foldier anyway. Keep me posted.

I think I got it to work this time. Instead of opening the archive and dragging the mod folder into the Mods directory directly from the archive, I just extracted it into the Downloads folder the archive got saved to, then moved the extracted folder into the Mods directory. Windows didn't complain about it then :)

*Edit* Got into the game, started it up and made sure that all the options were correct, and began playing. Moved my scout, founded my city, and then the game promptly crashed
I did run as Administrator too, and put the Sounds folder in the Assets. How strange...

Little tip:

I've found that with some of the mods that extracting the zip file to desktop and then click/drag to the mods folder seems to solve a lot of problems. This works extremely well for WIN 7/8 machines for some reason, not sure why. I never had a problem with mods on my old XP machine, go figure.

That sounds like a bigger error than something on your end. What civ are you playing?

Sounds like I may have to upload a new version...:crazyeye:

Drak what do you think about the Amazonian Native Civilization I mentioned before? Do you know anything of this my friend?

I think it was the Toltec? Was one of the 'Aztec-ish' new civilizations. Game loaded up fine, started fine, and all... Could move around and stuff.. Then I changed my Field of View from the default to 45... And then founded my city and the moment the technology listing came up at the top of the screen and before any new windows showed up... CTD, no sounds no messages.

Hmnn. Decent. Realism Invictus mod does the more notable tribes in excellent detail, so how about a bit of a tangent? There is quite a few tribes all along the Amazonian basin, extending from Peru all the way into Brazil. So with that in mind, I have some suggestions ( research will take awhile, and need to be thorough):

Ashaninka Tribe.

Kulina Tribe.

Kawahiva Tribe.

Additionally, since we appear to be agreed towards the mythological civs ( :D), why not toss in the Amazon women from legends? I'm sure Queen Hippolyta would thank you for it...... Although, I'd recommend a safe distance :mischief:.

I'll take a look at the amazon tribes. I'm eager to see what you have in mind Drak, thankyou. ;)

NP. I'll try to assist when able too. Unfortunately, with a change to graveyard shift, it makes things rather interesting in order to try and do anything. I'll stay updated and chime in when I'm able.

I think I've found the problem Rezca. I'm sorry for the delayed response, I am working on a new version, its not ready yet though. :(

I've had another CTD in the Renaissance. I'm going to try deleting one civilization at a time to find out which one is causing it. I can't see anything obvious.

Kingpin good to see you posting again. I've been playing afew test games myself, finding errors when they pop up and fixing. Errors your describing usually mean incorrect art defines for units and I have found some errors and fixed them.

I've noticed a few of the flags are still showing the old ones. Are you fixing those too?

Yeah, I've actually fixed most of those already.

Awesome. I spent an hour trying to figure out where the Australian flag was hidden. Even searching for the flag name didn't locate it. I managed to point the xml to a different location.
